Help with finding a job

I am an EU student looking for a job. I used to work in McDonald's in Den Haag for a year, but then I moved to Amsterdam a couple of months ago and I've been looking for a job ever since. It seems impossible to find one. I've applied to more than a dozen AH vacatures and another dozen horeca or retail parttime jobs I could find. I get minimal replies and these have been negative so far. McDonald's won't hire me because my old contract needs to terminate first.

I feel like this shouldn't be so hard for an EU student in a big city like Amsterdam and I also speak a bit of Dutch. I'm quite desperate because my money is running out and I don't have any other source of income. Any advice? Anyone looking for an employ?

I need design advice

How do I make my room seem brighter and warmer? It feels so empty and depressing, kinda like a hospital room.

Should I change the colors? What do you think I should add to make the space look friendlier and fuller? Should I maybe rearrange my furniture? I have a large window behind those curtains and I don't want my bed to be next to them for privacy.

Recommend books to me

Any recommendations on books discussing identity in relation to Bronze or Iron Age political structures and relationships in Mesopotamia or the broader Near East?

What would you have me do?

I'm thinking on writing my master's thesis either on cylinder seals or glass in Mesopotamia. I did some preliminary research on both, but I can't really decide on one (I find them both extremely interesting topics). I also want to explore said material in relation to craftsmanship and cognition.

Which one do you think would fit better with these last two research topics? Which one would you choose? What do you think is interesting for each material?

RMA Classics & Ancient Civilizations

Hi everyone! I'm just curious if there are any people who will be starting the Classics & Ancient Civilizations Research Master at the VU this September. Would love to know why you chose this programme and what your research interests are!

Tuition Fees

Hey everyone. Did you guys manage to pay your tuition fees for next year via studielink?

I have completed my application requirements and have been accepted for my master's at the VU, but studielink hasn't yet asked me for any payment details.

Is this normal? Does anyone know when I can expect to pay for the fees?
