Nurtec SCORE!!!

So I have been without migraine rescue medication for FIVE MONTHS now. Previously I had tried sumatriptan in oral and nasal form. I told my doc it didnt seem to work for my menstrual migraines. I asked if I could try something else, thinking maybe she could let me try a different triptan, but she told me to talk to my OBGYN to address treatment since I was also having other menstrual issues - yay PCOS /PMOS! A bit of background, Im a disabled female veteran, I get my healthcare through the VA and the VA hates letting VA clinic doctors prescribe expensive meds. But because its the VA, vaginas are mysterious and scary to them, so thank fuck they pay to let me see a civilian OBGYN in the community. If the community care doc prescribes, well... 🎶 nana nana boo boo ~ 😛 🎶

Finally had my obgyn appointment today. Wasnt sure an obgyn would be able to prescribe migraine rescue medication, but when I explained the 5 month withput rescue meds chain of events, the first thing she did was offer Nurtec. She said she even had samples, but sadly it turned out she was out. Thats okay though, she wrote me a prescription and sent it off to the VA pharmacy to be filled. Because of my disability status, the VA covers the full cost of the medication.

With all the wonderful things I have heard about nurtec, I am hopeful that I finally have a rescue med thats effective against my stubborn menstrual migraines. God I love my OBGYN

Struggling with this one - hen or roo?

Im looking specifically at the mainly white chick with the mixed pattern. Baxter is half bantam gamefowl and half amareucana and I am having trouble getting a read on their sex! What do you think, reddit? Hen or roo?

Let me know if you see any other potential roos in the photo that I may have missed!

First of the second wave of hatches!

Congratulations to blue cochin Penelope on her newest baby! This will be the third clutch she has raised in 2 years 🥰 shes a very good broody and a devoted mother to her chicks. Shes got three more eggs under her due any time now, and her daughter Boots (black - cochin-amareucana cross) and flockmate Junebug (black jersey giant) have eggs due to hatch any day too! This will be her daughter Boots first clutch !

Just earlier today I was commenting on a cute video of

u/Apocalyptic_Bird_Man loving on some cockatiels and mentioning loving Nettle as a name for a chicken...this one might end up being Nettle but it's hard to say for sure until all the babies hatch and I get a feel for their personalities!

A ruckus in my goose coop...

Found this beautiful, very chill 4+ft noodle when I heard my broody geese pitching a massive fit in their coop. He was looking to make a snack of one of my huge goose eggs. I removed him very gently. He gave a half hearted "im RATTLESNEK!!" tail wiggle but made no attempt to posture or strike at me. Im not positive of the type of snake but I know its not one of my local venomous species. I relocated him to my wood pile for all you can eat rodents but he wandered off toward the woods. I love these critters - they keep a lot of less desireable ones away. An egg or two every so often is a small price to pay to have a lovely snake like this in residence on my farm.
