the most common Hispanic-American first names in the 2020 Census
Race-by-first-name breakdowns were first released by the Census Bureau in April 2026 (timing is potentially icky), but there are some interesting tidbits in the data: Daniel and David are the most-Hispanic "white" names for men in the US, while Elizabeth, Jessica, and Jennifer take that role on the women's side.
I'm a half-Punjabi millennial in the Northeast (AKA an outsider here sorry) so there were some surprises here for me but I would bet that folks here could guess the top 5 or 10 almost perfectly. The "crossover" names were most surprising to me, but I really want to hear your thoughts!

the most common and concentrated Asian American names from the 2020 Census
In April 2026 the Census Bureau released first-name-by-race tabulations for the first time. It's not granular-- all Asian-Americans, immigrant and US-born, fall into the same bucket. That's how you can have over 2K names that are 90+% Asian, yet the most common name among Asian-Americans is John.
On the female side, Jenny and Grace are the two white-majority names with the most Asian-American bearers, while Hong is the most common Asian-majority female name. Lots and lots of stats here if that's your thing.
full disclosure: I made the linked site; it has no ads or trackers. I am not entirely comfortable with the racial demographics of every American first name having been made public by the current administration, but the data is really interesting.
most common multiracial names in the 2020 US Census: Kai takes #1
do any of the other top multiracial names ring Hapa to you? if you look through the table there's very strong Hawaiian and Japanese representation (Nanea and Taiyo are the most multiracial names in the entire 2020 US Census).
