Trying to Conceive with PCOS — Looking for Experiences ❤️

Hi everyone! I’m trying to conceive and have PCOS with irregular cycles, weight gain and hirsutism. I had used contraceptives previously, but I don’t want to go back on them now because we’re trying to conceive.

I’ve also tried metformin, but unfortunately I haven’t noticed much improvement instead i get severe nausea. I started taking inositol about 2 months ago and am waiting to see whether it makes a difference.

Recently, I’ve come across these options and wanted to ask if anyone here has personally tried them for PCOS, irregular cycles or TTC:

  1. Nutrify Shatavari

  2. Seed cycling, with or without spearmint tea

  3. Seed cycling Phinnyinyan (if anyone has tried this specifically)

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences — especially regarding ovulation, cycle regularity, hirsutism, weight loss, and whether you were able to conceive.

If you tried any of these, how long did you use them and what exactly did you take/use?

Please share your experiences, both positive and negative. ❤️

Dr. Hamza's Lectures for FCPS-1

Assalam o Elikum everyone! 🌸

I wanted to ask if anyone has links/access to Dr. Hamza’s FCPS-1 lectures, particularly:

• First Aid

• SK Series

• Double AA

• Rafiullah points

I’ve already spent quite a lot on study resources and unfortunately can’t afford to join or purchase any more academies/lecture series at the moment. If anyone has these lectures and is willing to share the links/resources, I would be extremely grateful. ❤️

Also, for those who have studied from both Dr. Hamza and Dr. Bilal, who would you recommend for FCPS-1 preparation, and why?

JazakAllah khair in advance!

Guidance regarding Neurology for Medicine & Allied in FCPS-1.

Hi everyone! 👋

I need some guidance regarding Neurology for Medicine & Allied (FCPS1).

Neurology is by far my weakest subject, especially the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology part. I'm trying to build a solid foundation rather than just memorize facts.

For those who have studied it successfully:

1- Which lecture series helped you the most for understanding neuroanatomy + neurophysiology?

2- Is Kaplan Neuro worth doing, or is First Aid alone enough for FCPS1 Medicine & Allied?

3- Are there any other resources (Ninja Nerd, Boards & Beyond, Kaplan, Najeeb etc.) that you would recommend to supplement it with?

4- If you've struggled with neurology before, what finally made it "click" for you?

I'd really appreciate your recommendations and study strategy. Thank you! 🌸

Seed cycling

Hi everyone! 🌸 I wanted to ask about seed cycling for PCOS and would really appreciate your experiences:

  1. Has anyone actually tried seed cycling for PCOS? Did you notice any changes in your periods, ovulation, acne, hair growth, or other symptoms?

  2. How long did it take before you noticed any difference?

  3. Did it help with irregular periods or make your cycles more regular?

  4. What exact seeds and quantities did you use, and how did you take them?

  5. Did you follow the traditional cycle-based method (flax + pumpkin seeds in the first half, sunflower + sesame in the second half), or did you use a different approach?

  6. For those with very irregular/absent periods, how did you decide when to switch between the two phases?

  7. Did anyone use seed cycling while trying to conceive?

  8. If you stopped seed cycling, did the benefits continue or did your symptoms return?

  9. Did it help with weightloss?

Would love to hear both positive and negative experiences! 🤍

How do you do First Aid and medicall together?

How do you do First Aid and medicall simultaneously in a day? Like I barely have time to read Rafi alongwith it. And I keep getting mcqs in medicall wrong. I don't want to add another book since it takes away focus from everything else. Like many mcqs in medicall aren't in first aid for eg I was doing MSK portions and many of them aren't in first aid...

Redo Open Heart Surgery PostOp Day 4

I had Septal Myectomy on 29/1 and that led to infectious pseudoaneurysm in ascending aorta. My redo surgery was done on 23/06. I'm recovering at a better rate than before. Maybe my body just knows this time what happened with it, lol. But i have fever, i am coughing up blood clots, is that normal? My one leg is swollen. I absolutely hate the DVT stockings.

Hairloss postop

Has anyone experienced increased hair loss after undergoing general anesthesia or a prolonged surgery? If so, how long did it last, what helped you manage it? and did it eventually improve? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Creating awareness through social media

Hi

I'm from Pakistan and I have HOCM (Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy), a condition that very few people around me seem to know much about.

Over the past few years, I've gone from being a relatively healthy young person to becoming a heart patient. I've already undergone a septal myectomy, and now I'm preparing for another redo cardiac surgery.

The journey has been physically, emotionally, and financially challenging. At times, it has also felt lonely because there is very little awareness about HOCM in Pakistan, and it's hard to find people who truly understand what living with it is like.

I've been thinking about starting an anonymous Instagram/YouTube page where I document my journey, share what HOCM is, explain tests and surgeries in simple language, discuss recovery, and hopefully help others who may be going through something similar.

I would prefer to remain anonymous, but I want to create awareness and maybe, over time, earn a little income from the content if it becomes useful to enough people.

Do you think this is something people would actually be interested in following?

If you were a patient, family member, doctor, or simply someone interested in health content, what kind of posts or videos would you want to see?

I'd genuinely appreciate your suggestions.

Need genuine advice from ladies whose husbands have gone through nicotine addiction/withdrawal.

My husband is trying to quit nicotine vape, and he thinks switching to cigarettes for some time might help him cut down gradually. But honestly, I feel like cigarettes are even more harmful and I’m not sure if this approach is effective.

The bigger issue is the withdrawal symptoms. He’s constantly irritable, angry, moody, and we end up having unnecessary fights over small things. Things have been really difficult between us lately because of this.

Has anyone’s husband gone through something similar while quitting smoking/vaping? What actually helped? Did nicotine patches, gums, medications, or any specific strategy work? And how did you cope with the mood changes and irritability as a spouse?

Please no judgment — just looking for sincere advice and experiences. 🥺

Redo Open Heart Surgery

Did anyone here had a redo open heart surgery for any reason within 6months of septal myectomy? I have developed pseudoaneurysm and outpocketing of aorta. My surgeons have adviced for open heart surgery asap. I am scared and I don't want to go through this again.
