Aren't you all fed up with the constant "reverse the genders" argument online?

I’m a guy and even I am getting irritated to the core with this whole analogy. A woman jokes with a man? "Reverse the genders." A woman flirts? "Reverse the genders." Out of thousands of assault cases against women every day, if one incident goes viral of a woman slapping a guy, the entire comment section is suddenly screaming about reversing the genders. It frustrates me because I often feel like the same guys weaponizing this phrase online to shut down women wouldn't even have the guts to intervene if they saw a woman being harassed in real life. It seems like they use it as a tool to derail conversations. How do you all deal with the exhaustion of seeing this everywhere? Do you still try to explain the context and power dynamics to these guys, or have you just started completely ignoring it?

Just read about Divya Mittal and found her incredibly inspiring. Have you ever come across someone whose achievements genuinely inspired you?

I recently read about Divya Mittal's journey, from IIT to IIM to a trader in London and then civil services. It made me wonder about the people who leave a lasting impression on us.

Who is that person in your life and what about their journey inspired you? It doesn't have to be a public figure. It could be someone from your family, a friend, a teacher, a colleague or even you.

On this 80th Independence Day, what do you guys want freedom from?

It can be anything, big or small. Freedom from late working hours, household responsibilities you never signed up for, restrictions on what you can wear, body shaming, societal expectations, or something completely different.

Basically, what’s one thing in your life or society that you genuinely wish you could be free from?

Is this even legal? Won’t it interfere with Article 21 (Right to life and Personal liberty) of the Indian Constitution

You guys might have read the news regarding the Chairman of Bar Council of India’s statement on the recent graduates of NALSAR. My doubt is won’t Article 21 negate this?

What you guys think about the whole situation surrounding that viral girl who used some derogatory words against the PM?

During the recent protests, we saw so many people abusing the PM. But they went after a girl. Does the media and our government only care when a girl abuses them? Mostly no action was taken against the guys who did the same. Is it somehow more insulting to the government and the media when a woman does it?

Some news channels even aired reports showing her home on national television. Isn't our government's ego a little too fragile?

Honestly, I don't really care about what she said. We come across so many people every day, even here on reddit, who abuse others for no reason or over the smallest arguments.

What's your take on this?

What other career would you guys have chosen if you weren’t doing your current one?

Yesterday I was talking with my friend, and initially she seemed a bit low. Later she told me how she always wanted to become a doctor or open a book café. And this is the same friend from the privileged background I talked about in my last post, but still she ended up in a field which wasn’t her first choice.

That made me wonder how many women, had to choose practicality, stability, or financial security over what they genuinely wanted to do.

So, what was your first career choice? Or what would you have chosen if not for the pressure of being self-independent?

Women who grew up privileged, what’s something you later realized wasn’t “normal” for everyone?

I was talking to my female friend recently ,she’s a team lead at a top MNC and comes from a family of surgeon doctors.

A while back, she broke her iPad in anger and barely seemed bothered by it afterwards. That honestly made me realize how differently privilege can shape what feels “normal” to a person.

For some people like me, damaging an expensive gadget would feel like a huge financial setback, while for others like her it’s more of an inconvenience.

Not saying this negatively at all but it just made me curious about how differently people experience comfort, money, and lifestyle depending on how they grew up.

So for women here who grew up financially comfortable or privileged, what’s something you later realized wasn’t actually “normal” for most people?

Why are some people comfortable recording intimate moments with their partners despite the risk of leaks?

Recently, I met an ex-colleague who is going through a divorce. She told me one of the issues in her marriage was that her husband wanted to record their intimate moments, but she was never comfortable with it. Her concern was that so many private videos eventually get leaked online and that fear alone was enough for her to refuse.

That got me wondering despite knowing the risks of privacy breaches, hacked devices, revenge porn, breakups, or misuse by partners, what makes some people comfortable recording intimate moments with their partners?

My previous post on this topic was removed because the framing came across as focusing on why women trusted their partners rather than questioning the actions and misuse by people who leak or misuse such content. That wasn’t my intention, so I’m reposting this with a better focus on trust, consent, and digital privacy in relationships.
