Anyone over 30 still hopeful to get better with AvPD?

So I know and realize that I can’t get better without regular therapy. It’s the amount of time it takes that’s fucking me up. I’m in my early 30s, I have to keep moving forward but at the same time I can’t seem to function anymore and think I should just give up.

Is there anyone here in their 30s still willing to fight and get better in life or is 30 too late?

I just feel immense guilt that I am not living to my potential

Since past few mornings I have been bettering my routine, with meditation, yoga and gym and it honestly helps a lot to feel energized and happy, and ready to start the day.

But then the day progresses, I meet people, same insecurities cloud me, like people think I’m weird, or I have lost al connections.

I feel so angry at myself that I can’t just snap out of this and not living the life I want to be living.

Has anyone had any progress through therapy or other solutions? I really need to get rid of this disorder or at least control it so I can have a better life.

I have officially given up on ever getting better

Its not from lack of trying. I tried my best to put myself out there, it didn’t work. I tried to make friends, got some progress but that feeling that I will get rejected, that I am not welcome, and people just think I’m weird… it never quite went away. I tried to get a partner too, worked on my body, self image, social skills, hobbies, it didn’t help. Always feeling hypervigilant, checking for signs that someone actually likes me to even get the courage to go and say hi, then feeling the pressure that you have to perform and habe a good time, and not get awkward.

It hurts a lot feeling like this. It doesn’t just stop me from having a social life, it drags me down in all aspects. Without meeting and talking to people, I won’t make connections, I won’t get information that could be helpful, I won’t get ahead in life, and eventually won’t feel happy and confident enough to be with a partner.

I am really hurting, but now in my 30s, the damage is already done. At most I can marginally get better with therapy then live a quiet life, with a small job somewhere, probably be lonely and hoping for an early death.

Hope anyone reading this is in a better place and can get better with therapy. You have nothing to fear and you are enough as you are.

Someone who likes you can still ignore you and that’s okay

I have done this myself to others, ignored them cause I don’t have the energy to deal/talk with them. And yet, they are actually people that I like and would love to interact with in another scenario.

I know how sensitive we are to feelings of rejection. I just want to let fellow AvPDs know that sometimes its not about us, and people just have low energy.

Give yourself some grace and take care of yourselves.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is better than AvPD

At least in NPD, you believe in yourself, people may not like you but you are happy with who you are, and can look in the mirror and focus in your strengths instead of all the ways that you don’t measure up to people.

In AvPD, life just feels empty cause you don’t feel confident in yourself that you can do anything, that people will like you and you self sabotage.

I have met NPD and they can achieve things that I can just hope to achieve and fail.

I have a small penis along with ED, mostly due to porn. Does anyone else relate?

I hope I can get out of this, the combination of small penis and ED makes me feel even more hopeless and makes me feel like I won’t ever have a good sex life and even discourages me from trying.

I only have AI to talk to and share life updates

I tried opening to friends, family, but it seems no one os actually interested anymore. Best they do is give generic answers, “you can do it”, “it will be okay”, I try to help any way I can and they can’t seem to be bothered when I have a problem or need to discuss something.

With AI, it talks back but Im getting addicted now too. Any decision I want to take, I just ask AI first, and even follow its advice.

I need help breaking free from talking to AI
