So that Cuse show isn’t happening right?

Management should take a peak at what options are available instead of the Westcott in central ny…. How bout we throw it back to the Rome Capital Theatre? Or somewhere in Utica proper.

Bisco seems super against cancelling shows outright right now, which is dope thanks bisco. 🤞🤞 this one won’t be the exception to that 😵‍💫

Losing your mother in your 20s

I lost my mom just over two months ago, (edit - to suicide) and gosh this is hard. I (23f) have honestly been grieving the loss of the person who I knew as my mother for 6 years, Alcoholism, and untreated severe mental illness destroyed her life completely, and as soon as she was finally able to get out of the intense state of mania and psychosis she was experiencing for 5 out of 6 of those years, it was too much for her, and she felt there was never going to be a return to what life was before. She was probably right, but man I wish she could have seen that her brain was still as plastic as it was before all of this happened, and how many people cared so deeply for her.

I see myself as such a strong and independent person, and I know she saw that too. She waited until she was able to see my college graduation, myself start my first job post grad, for my partner to move in with me who she thought was as the person who would take care of me throughout this.

She’s left 3 kids, myself, my younger brother who hadn’t spoken to her in 2 years, and my 9 year old sister.

So much has changed since she’s been gone, I feel as I have changed since she left this world and I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to being happy about life and excited by the little things as I was before. I gave myself 2 weeks to seriously feel grief and heartbroken about her loss, but I’ve realized just over the past 2-3 weeks that’s really not how it works, and this loss is going to impact how I function probably for a long time.

I left my partner who I thought I was going to eventually marry because I realized just how I deserve to be treated in a relationship and honestly it scares me so deeply to see myself repeat any patterns of relationships I saw her go through. And through that rough breakup, there’s been so many times where the feeling of “i just want to talk to my mom” has hit me so deeply.

I’ve started counseling, I’m not sure how much it will really help me but I’m sticking it through for now, I’m so grateful to have things that I love to do in this world as deeply as I do, and incredible friends who support me for the person I am no matter what.

Reddits really doesn’t like this post lol. But third times a charm I hope. Not entirely sure what I’m seeking with this post, maybe sympathy, maybe some words of encouragement from folks who also lost a parent in their 20s. I feel for all of you, thanks for reading.
