Where is Midwich

Hello everyone! I get very passionate about silly things such as figuring out where a fictional town would be.

So, in Ghosts day Out, Stabby Paul seemingly makes it to Syracuse in the night. A night in New york in October is ~13 hours and given his passion he could have traveled 50-75 miles based on speed and whether ghosts need to take a break.

We also learn there is a lighthouse in town which implies they're on Lake Ontario.

Based on the distance to Syracuse and the age/visual appearance of the lighthouse I think the most likely locations for midwich is Cape Vincent, NY (Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, marked in red) or Rochester, NY (Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse, marked in blue)

It is also very funny that Haunted hotel takes place in Western New York when you consider all of the new religions and cults that started in that area during the "second great awakening" (late 1700s- early 1800s)

Anyways this has been a fun rabbit hole thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Seating at Hollywood Bowl?

Hey yall! So I'm hoping to see my chemical romance at the Hollywood bowl in October but I only moved to Socal recently and have never been to a venue like this. I could get tickets slightly closer but pretty but left or tickets further up but straight in the middle- for those of yall who know the venue better, does being to the side make a big difference?

I can't seem to attach a picture but it would either be pretty forward in section K2 or dead center in section N1- thanks for your help!

Whats With the Rent Increase?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just moved from the east coast last month. I got a place thats nice but honestly probably spent more than I should have so because of that and just because I think it's fun I've been periodically looking at rental apartments.

Anyway I've noticed the rent everywhere that I have a reference for has gone up $2/300+ in just the last month?? Is this normal for the area? Is it a summer thing? Is there just like a sudden influx of people? Have I just found myself a weirdly specific data pool?

Pot Handles Get Hot on gas stoves?

Hi all! Sorry if this isn't quite on topic but it is about my cooking difficulties.

I moved into a new place recently and it's the first time I've had a gas stove and I've noticed that the handles on all my pans get hot to the point that you really cant touch them barehanded. Now I also got a new set of pans so I was curious if people more accustomed to gas stoves know if this is a problem with the pans or just a side effect of working with open flame?

How much does a haircut cost?

Hello! I recently moved to the area and am in desperate need of a haircut.

I've been looking around and every place I see is either like $150+ or just says "prices vary" 💀 - I feel like I'm just missing all the normal ones but maybe I'm just unused to SoCal Prices

I used to pay $70 +tip for a wash, cut and style so I'm just wondering what people around here are actually paying? And if yall have any suggestions of places to check out it would be greatly appreciated!!

Ive got longer curly hair and prefer to go to someone that knows curly hair but it doesn't need to be like a deva cut or anything special and truly at this point I just want to know if there are cheaper places then what I'm finding 😅
