Are there any popular mods that one should avoid?

I come from the modded Bethesda games world, where there are mods that at first glance look great and have tens of millions of downloads, but in reality will give your game cancer and should be avoided at all costs. I won’t name names, but anyone who has done significant Bethesda modding knows what I’m talking about.

EDIT: Fine, I’m talking about Arthmoor and his unofficial patches that claim to only fix bugs, but actually change working content and even add entirely new content like the ugly oblivion gates in the skyrim patch.

Is there anything like that here? Or even mods that used to be great but now are outdated/deprecated and not marked as such?

(Quality Mod) Just got by far the most insane thing I've ever seen in the game from an Artifact of Prestige teleporter drop

Who wants to bet I won't see a single chance shrine for the rest of the run

Modded character recommendations?

Modded ror2 characters range from absolute trash to even better designed than the base game, so it can be hard to know which ones to try out.

What modded character(s) do you enjoy and recommend to others? And why? Lately I’ve been enjoying characters that do slow, massive hits. From vanilla, mostly Railgunner even though my aim kinda sucks, and Loader.

The modded character I’ve been playing the most is Rocket. He’s basically Soldier from TF2 with Rocket Jumper as his primary, but it doesn’t damage you at all. His movement is incredible and you can double up on the skill that’s basically the Market Gardener in order to continuously do massive hits that are guaranteed crits and stay in the air. Though I do wish he had a different secondary. Suggestions don’t have to be based around the big slow hits though - just adding to my own discussion.

This show has a great ending (spoilers for the series finale, S8E22)

I think it was the closest Greg House could ever get to a happy ending. Faked his own death to avoid prison so he could spend his best friend’s last 5 months alive together with him. I kinda wonder what he would get up to afterwards, but he wouldn’t be able to be a doctor, or even Greg House, so it wouldn’t actually be all that interesting.

As a side note, I also loved that Foreman was the one person other than Wilson who got to know that House was still alive.

What’s one item you always take regardless of chosen tato/build?

I’ll start - Jerky. I never turn it down. +3 consumable healing is super strong and I don’t even see the 4 second timer as a downside. It’s very rare that being healed instantly would make a difference. And it can even be a positive if I’m playing a build that makes me want/need to run through enemies by turning what would be overhealing into ticking heals that actually get used.

On a somewhat related tangent, I don’t even use regen or life steal anymore. Between luck stacking, tree spamming, fruit baskets, and gardens, fruit healing is almost always enough to carry me through.

Are certain items/affixes just rarer than others even within their same rarity tier? For reasons other than tags

I feel like I barely ever see elemental damage, regardless of character/current weapons. I know about tags making certain items more common, like getting more trees on Hiker, but it seems like there’s weighting other than that. And it’s not just elemental damage; that’s just the one on my mind right now.

Fix the Mixology point imbalance. If it’s not already on the Summer Sweep-up list, add it

The rarest point type also being the one you need the most of is ridiculous. The minigame is already cancer. It doesn’t need extra BS.

Also extend the bonus windows by 1 tick, but that’s less important.

Change the text of the Elder Auqanite's special attack

Right now it says "The aquanite disables your protection prayers!" which doesn't really indicate how it's supposed to work. That text gives the impression that you need to just quickly turn it back on, like at Vorkath or Amoxliatl. I suggest something like "The aquanite is enraged by your extended use of protection prayers!", or really anything that's a better indicator of what's actually happening.

11% chance for crossbows to fire an extra shot with 1/3 the accuracy, damage, and bolt proc chance. That’s like a 1% damage increase (roughly). Its best use case is against enemies with low defenses, but nobody uses crossbows against low defense enemies since they have lower potential DPS (assuming perfect accuracy) than other classes of ranged weapon. And even if you’re fighting something with no defense against heavy ranged but very high against light and medium, even an odium ward is significantly better. Oh also it doesn’t work with the Dorgeshuun or hunter crossbows. That’s supposedly a bug, but one that has existed for months.

Am I missing something or is this item just dead on arrival?
