Stick with what's working (mint) or try a few others before deciding?

So i just converted my pc to linux since it can't upgrade to window 11. I was recommended mint so that's what I went with. I've gotten that setup and working for what I use my pc for, ebook library management and some occasional gaming otherwise I could go months without using my pc.

In that process I've learned a bit more how linux works as a desktop os and that mint kind of is behind the times a bit, not using wayland at the moment, for example. So I've been debating to try a few other distros that are more modern. OpenSUSE or fedora specifically slightly leaning towards openSUSE since I can try it as a rolling distro and if I dont care for that, theoretically, I should be able to migrate to either slowroll or leap fairly easily.

Mostly im looking for input if the effort is worth it while I still have stuff backed up. Especially since I'm not even sure my setup can use the advantages of wayland. Like I'm pretty sure I don't have vrr support and most of my gaming is older or emulation so hdr is also limited there but is supported by my hardware. This is on a 10 year old gaming laptop.

Edit:

i should also mention I'm asking because I've been testing/replaying through fallout new vegas and I've been seeing issues with it. I'm not sure if it's i need more tweaking of the game or x11/wayland differences. I'm not expecting a silver bullet just were to start tweaking

Some weirdness I've seen:

Like I wasnt able to set the resolution of the game to my tv's resolution unless I set the tv as main display

Frame stuttering even though my cpu/gpu never go past 50%

When I set the display refresh rate to 60 the display was dimming whenever I moved the character or camera

Ps5 3 player co-op games that work well when one person has very limited time to play?

Things we have tried:

Survival games. I'm not really a fan of the genre in general and felt kind of pointless if the one person came back to the base completely built and resources gathered

Competitive match based games. We aren't really that competitive, and 1 doesn't care for twitched based shooters. We did have fun on chivalry 2 for a bit. Though most feel pretty repetitive and we lose interest. Am open to suggestions here if people can make a compelling argument.

Helldivers 2. Put quite a bit of time into it. Don't like that it's paywalled to get new stuff to play with.

Deep rock galactic. Didn't care for.

Warframe. Mind numbingly boring easy.

Elder scrolls online. Currently trying. With the world matching your level, it seems like it might work ok.

Games with a class system like final fantasy Tactics the Ivalice Chronicles

I've seen stranger of paradise has a system similar are there any other games that come close with co-op/multiplayer? Don't really care about anything else besides the classes needing to be leveled and in combination with others to unlock more advanced classes.

Systems in order of preference: PS5, Switch 1, PC.

Co-op/multiplayer games with class/job advancement. foot soldier -> squire -> knight for example

Systems in order of preference: ps5, switch, pc. My pc is 10 years old at this point so needs lower system requirements

Just looking for some games to play with my friends that have a class advancement system. Could be straight linear advancement, branching paths, or hybridization of classes

Ps5 faction vs faction PvP or PvEvP game

More games similar to Cryodiil in elder scrolls online would be ideal. It has you part of one of three factions then you are sieging and conquering castles to take over the map

For honor also has something similar but it's version is less interesting or didn't really seam to have much purpose besides just saying you own territory. Also for honor being only one game mode got kind of boring.

Ideally it would have a variety of ways to contribute or different gamemodes to simulate you achieving objectives to keep things interesting. Also, I'd prefer premade factions not player made and be solo/no mic friendly

Ps5 pvp games that arent matched based repetitive and have you working towards something

Cyrodiil in elder scrolls online is one example. You join one of three factions then are trying to conquer the map by taking castles and other objectives.

I know a few survival/crafting games have full pvp but never really liked that genre and not sure that they provide enough of a goal

Wanting to double check, MacCready and Crown of Doom

Pretty sure it's a nonbo but want to double check. If I have [[MacCready, lamplight mayor]] and [[Crown of Doom]] and my opponent attacks me with a 2/2 it won't trigger MacCready's whenever im attacked with a 4 or greater because the 2/2 would be pumped after the attack trigger check.

Games where your actions could gradually and visibly damage the ecosystem

Ive played multiple games now, monster hunter being the biggest, where they have talked about not killing too many of a creature as to not harm the ecosystem but then in gameplay you go out and kill thousands of them to make a pair of boots.

So im curious if there's any game where you can affect the ecosystem by your actions. For example, you kill too many wolves, then prey creatures become over abundant and slowly start to eat all the vegetation, leaving the area barren or getting into a field destroying a harvest.

Also, I'm not really looking for an ecosystem management (if thats a thing) but more a game that takes the ecosystem into consideration.
