Memorial Day Plans / Activities?

Yes it's going to rain but not much! Highs of 67-68 on Friday and Saturday. The woods, trails and such are still muddy but it's going to be a great weekend. What's everyone up to? Any events or activities in the area?

Remodeling Advice and HomeKit Refresh of Devices

I went all HomeKit in 2016 with Ecobee, Hue bulbs, Schlage deadbolt, Hunter fans and a Unifi WiFi 5 system with a Dream Machine. I'm doing a full remodel of the entire house top to bottom...it's a big one so I'm adding 12 new Cat6 drops, going from a 19 to 42U rack in the server room for a new home theater and taking stock of my HomeKit setup to see what's worth investing in. I'm also replacing most of my Unifi devices that are 10 years old to WiFi 7 and dropping Arlo in favor of Unifi cameras with a local NVR.

I have a Synology for HomeBridge but I have a brand new Liftmaster garage door which I'll do a relay on. We have 5 full size HomePods and 3 AppleTVs. All Macintosh household.

Door locks...what's in, what's cool? My entry door is a French door so I require a thinner deadbolt lock. The August one I have now is working okay but I'm curious what HomeKey devices are best?

Motorized matter w/ thread blinds? I'd like some black out curtains

Should I replace my original Ecobee? It's working fine and I just have a single-zone forced hot air furnace so it's only used in the winter. I'm adding 5 mini-splits so I need to figure out how I can integrate those into Home Kit.

I'm going Hue to all recessed cans through the house and some sconces that are A19 bulb support so I'll keep about 10% of my Hue bulbs and just replace my switches with Lutron Caseta...at least that's the plan.

Then there's things I'm interested in like indoor temp / air quality sensors, HomeKit doorbells with video? water sensor for the basement?

We're also adding a patio and fire pit so maybe some outside lighting with string lights that has a HomeKit sensor to activate?

I have a YouTube playlist of our house remodel (I'm not an influencer but it gives some context) but it's a small place. I just want some nice tech upgrades - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J2iBEEB6fE&list=PLc-rhUVUGj8vhgMR84GgPUrHlRDh6KPB9&index=2

There's a TT RS Heritage in Tizian Red Metallic up for sale (USA)

Obviously it's about $15K above what it should cost for these miles. Someone here should just keep an eye on it and wait for a price drop or make an offer. I'm not associated with the dealership but thought I'd share. I like the exterior color but not the interior.

My 2 year old is happy the convertible is out of the garage

New Hampshire so it’s still a low of 37 degrees this morning so we really only get to use it June-August with the top down but she loves rolling through the gears.

Not a winter car and really missed how well it drives compared to the truck daily driver.
