bean, my bestie, was sleeping in the kitty toy basket yesterday. ive never seen her do it before and I was glad to have captured the moment

edit: ID'd! its pineapple weed, aka wild camomile, totally not the variety i was hoping for but im still happy.

i recently moved into a home with a gravel driveway, i found this growing there. i think its camomile (and if so, id love to know whether its roman or german), but maybe its not!

i have been looking for a perfect match for a while, of course there are SO many of similar versions out there but not exactly this one, its a lot more realistic than many of the more stylized or cartoonish ones available. my mom accidentally left it behind when my childhood home was sold in my parents divorce, it makes her sad. i cant have that!

it would have been many years ago, and we are in michigan. she cannot remember where she got it, as an avid gardener she went to many garden centers and had lots of gardening catalogs, it could have come from anywhere.

maybe its impossible now to find an exact match (outside of commissioning someone) but i thought id try. thank you.

my dear sweet boy has been gone for 4 years. i adopted him as the tiniest little kitten and he was my best friend for 11 good and fun years. we loved each other very much. unfortunately a brain tumor took him way too early. he was silly and talkative and loved to carry around little soft toys - his babies, i called them. he was the perfect gentleman to his little sister bean, my tortie, he taught her how lovely it is to lay in front of the heat vent and how to sleep under the covers. they didn't even have a full year together :( but bean still comes to sleep under the covers with me sometimes. i have a tattoo of him, and my favorite painting ive ever done is a giant portrait of him.

i still think of him often and just writing this all up has made me cry like a baby
