The map of truth
I’m really enjoying this series so far. As much as I’m not a fan of Katy Kung. I’m loving the energy the series has. Very early 2000s TVB.
It’s silly. It’s cringy. It’s fun.

Hey everyone,
I'm in my final shopping process between two cars and I know these are two very different cars overall and probably aimed at different buyers, but I’m curious if anyone here has actually driven or owned both the Geely EX5 and the Zeekr 7X.
I was pretty set on getting the EX5 because from a bang-for-buck perspective it seems really hard to beat. Comfortable, practical, decent range, and the pricing makes a lot of sense to me.
But recently someone told me I should seriously consider stretching to the Zeekr 7X instead, and now I’m second guessing myself a bit.
I do really like the design and overall premium feel of the 7X, but we’re talking roughly another $20k depending on spec, which is a pretty significant jump.
For those who’ve driven both or seriously cross-shopped them:
Things I care about most are:
Would love some honest real-world feedback rather than just spec-sheet comparisons especially in Melbourne (Vic) driving.

Hey all,
I’m pretty new to EVs and trying to narrow things down at the moment. I’ve landed on the Geely EX5 and Kia EV5 as my main options, but struggling to separate them beyond the spec sheets.
I've tested them both today and fine them both very similar in terms of the drive and familiar to what I'm used to.
Would love to hear from anyone who owns or has driven either (or both):
I’ve seen people say EV range can drop a fair bit in real life — like down to ~60% of claimed. Is that actually true in your experience, or a bit exaggerated?
For context, most of our driving is just suburban Melbourne — school runs, errands, etc. We rarely do long road trips, so range isn’t a dealbreaker, but still want to understand what I’m getting into.
Keen to hear some honest experiences before pulling the trigger
