I have refurbed a couple of iPods over the last week and have had a mixed experience getting content onto them.

First up was a 4G photo which went ok eventually using Swinsian on my Mac, it probably took 1-2 hours to copy 80gb of songs.

Then at the weekend me and my daughter repaired an iPod Mini for her to use and we replaced the battery and HDD with an sd card using the iFlash adapter. Initially tried to use iTunes on her school Windows laptop but it was so slow that we then switched to Media Monkey which just seemed to want to transcode everything despite switching off the setting, at least I think it was based on how long it took to copy just 2 albums. We then switched to Swinsian on my Mac and as with the 4G it worked fine but did take a lot longer. In total to copy just over 40gb of music it took over 8 hours.

Is this normal? How fast does your modded iPod sync content?

I just replaced the battery and installed an iFash adapter on my iPod 4G (mono) it all seemed to go ok and when I plugged it into my Mac it was recognised in finder and showed the correct storage etc.

I clicked restore and againit seemed to start the process ok but it has been at it now for 30 minutes with no apparent progress. Finder is saying 'Your Mac is retoring the software on this iPod and the progress circle in the side bar does not appear to have moved.

How long should it take? It feels like ti should have been done by now, unsure whether to leave it or abort, reformat the card and try again.

Week one with my air and I am mostly loving it, my first niggle however has come unexpectedly from the keyboard. In full size mode it is just a tad too big for me to one-hand type and with one-handed mode switched on it is too small, the same goes for both the stock and Gboard.

You used to be able to resize the one handed keyboard, when did Apple remove that feature?

I have a Fiio M21 and like it a lot but am just looking for a simpler dump alternative without all the android bloat, and the HifiWalker H2 looks interesting.

I would expect the sound quality to be better on my M21 but maybe not enough to be an issue but it is battery life where I am not sure as I am seeing some conflicting numbers, with anything from 8-12 hours up to 24 hours+. I would intend to install Rockbox and would only be listening wired through my HD599s, mostly FLACS but some DSD.

What kind of battery life are we looking at here?

I am UK based and am starting to wonder if I have been scammed by Commodore.net

I ordered my basic beige model in December and it has still not arrived. I chased them in March and they did at least respond saying it was close. I then got a notification and the status updated in my account to Left the Factory. This was several weeks ago now so I checked again today and the status has slipped back to In Production!

This is no way to run a business, it seems like there is a region priority going on here and that is unacceptable IMO. They have even been trolling me over recent weeks with C64s are in stock ready to order emails.

Has anybody in the UK received theirs yet?
