My college professors told us to code in linux. Not in windows, not in MacOS, but linux. (God knows for whatever reason)

Everybody is confused as to what to do.

I was planning to buy MacBook Air M5 but some of the seniors said linux won't run properly in it, and it's not so good for coding.

So shd I go for macbook air m5 or some other windows laptop? Please suggest😭
