FX Follies!

The mixer that sparked today's oddness is the X32 Rack at my church. we control it with two Android tablets. In randomly tapping around a few days ago, I noticed the pitch shifters were not among the effects available. Today, I randomly opened Mixing Station on my phone (also Android), and connected to the mixer. I found the pitch shifters *were* available. (I'm not planning to use them at all. My minister has a good sense of humour, but would not appreciate me making her sound like Alvin or the other chipmunks.)

I just found it odd that the effects availability was different on the same mixer with different instances of MS on different devices, even with the same OS in all cases. Now I'm wondering if any of you have found any random oddness in your use of MS.

Can't connect stream deck mobile to computer

I'm at a conference away from home, and forgot to bring my stream deck. Using it would make my life quite a bit easier, with one of the sessions I'm leading this afternoon. I tried to connect my phone to my computer using stream deck mobile. Even though the two devices are on the same network, the software insists they are not. I tried to connecting using a USB cable, but the software on the two devices still won't see each other. I have the adequate versions of the software on either end to (in theory) make this happen.

Does anyone have any tricks for making stream deck connect to the mobile software? Thanks very much!

RUUD Achiever is now an underachiever

Howdy, all!

We have a RUUD Achiever condenser unit. Lately, it sometimes only turns on partially. The fan will come on, but not the rest of the unit. Of course, that means air is being pushed, but not cold air. I can make it function properly by turning the system off then back on again once or twice. This is only intermittent. It tends to turn on completely more often than not.

Does anybody know what the most possible culprits for this behavior could be? I'd kind of like to DIY if that is possible. My friends say I'm frugal, but I disagree. I'm cheap. :)

Fortunately, I've got a little time to work on it. We're heading out of town next month, and that's when it gets critical. We don't want our five cats (and the daily cat maintainer) to overheat while we are gone.

Thanks very much for any ideas you may have to offer!

Yes! It's ancient! DMPS-300-C-HDMI audio, interface issues

My church just picked up one of these old clunkers to drive a couple large monitors we just had donated for our sanctuary. We're a small church with a tight budget, so being able to get this equipment for next to nothing has been amazing for us.

Of course, there are problems. :-)

I took delivery of the DMPS-300-C HDMI today, and set about trying to set it up. It does *almost* everything needed quite well, and showing my volunteer staff how to run it will be easy. The one thing that's missing is audio. I've been testing it out by running some simple HDMI inputs and outputs, and I found I cannot get audio on any of the output signals [1]. I've tried just about everything I know to try in the menu on the front panel screen, so I decided to try the web interface [2]. That's where I gave myself a headache. I've tried accessing the web interface using the IP address, and also using the host name. Nothing comes up in my web browser. It essentially says the destination can't be found.

Of course, as a volunteer tech guy at a church, I'm not on the kind of level at which I have access to the Crestron Toolbox. I'm not 100% sure it would help with solving my problem, but I think the chances are at least better than 75%. :-)

Thanks very much to anyone who might have any insights!

[1] This isn't an absolute deal breaker, but it will definitely eliminate some headaches down the road.

[2] I also hoped this might take away some of the tedium of repeatedly using buttons and the volume knob to input the password, and navigate the menus.

X-32 USB driver needed ASAP, if possible

Driver page not working, of course. Does anyone have a link to someplace that S working, where I can get this driver? It somehow got blown out of the computer at my church, and we have our service in the morning. I thought I had a backup file, but apparently I do not. :(

Thanks!

Yes, I am a stupid noob.

Did Behringer really provide a holding pad on this mixer, just so we can go hands-free when we look at cat pictures on our phones while mixing a show? :-)
