My skin doesn’t feel normal anymore and I can’t figure out why

I don’t really know what changed, but my skin just doesn’t feel normal anymore.

My skin is normal to combination and it was completely fine before this. I was using CeraVe foaming cleanser for about 4 months with no problems at all.

For the cleanser, I didn’t switch the product, just the way I used it. Earlier, I would apply it directly on my face with a bit of water and it made less foam. Recently I started lathering it in my hands first and then applying it on my face, so it creates more foam now.

Around the same time, I also switched to a Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer. At first everything felt totally fine.

But after a few days, things started changing.

Now I’m getting small red bumps on my face, and my skin feels more sensitive than before. Even when I apply the moisturizer, it gives a slight burning feeling for a short time, which is the part that’s confusing me the most.

I also use Skin Aqua sunscreen daily, so I still need something that can properly remove it without making things worse.

Right now I stopped the moisturizer for a couple of days because of the burning, just to see if my skin calms down.

I’m not really sure what’s going on:

  • did my skin barrier get irritated?
  • is it the moisturizer, or is my skin just reacting right now?
  • should I just go back to my old cleansing method and use the Neue gel moisturizer again, will that actually help my skin barrier heal and keep my skin hydrated?

If anyone has gone through something similar, I’d really appreciate your help.

I’m really fed up with getting bad haircuts. Every time I leave the salon, I regret it. I’ve got wavy hair and a beard, and it feels like no one knows how to handle them properly. I always end up waiting for months for it to grow back the way it should be.

I live in Bahawalpur and need a barber or stylist who specializes in wavy hair and can properly trim and shape my beard. I’m not looking for just a basic cut or trim. I need someone who knows how to work with both my hair and beard. If you know anyone who’s good at this, let me know where they are, how much they charge for a haircut and beard trim, and if you were happy with the results. I’m tired of taking chances with my hair and beard. Any help would really mean a lot!

I’m a guy with wavy hair and usually use TRESemmé Rich Moisture Shampoo with their conditioner (sometimes I switch to L'Oreal Paris Elvive Hyaluron Pure Conditioner). After washing, my hair feels moisturized for the day, but by the next morning, it’s dry, frizzy, way more voluminous, and even wavier than before. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? I also sleep on a satin pillowcase, thinking that might help.

Should I stick with this routine, or should I switch to a leave-in conditioner? Is it worth it, or will it only keep the moisture in for the same short amount of time?

Lastly, what’s the best drying method for wavy hair? I hear blow-drying can cause damage, even on low heat, and air-drying tends to leave frizz sometimes. Any tips on how to dry my waves without losing definition? I want to keep them controlled and sitting straight instead of having harsh zig-zag waves that get puffy and sit on top instead of falling down.

One more thing: I’ve heard two different opinions about when to brush wavy hair. Some people say to brush it when it’s dry, but others mention that it can cause frizz and mess up the pattern. I’ve also heard that brushing it when it’s wet can still mess up the wave pattern, and some suggest drying the hair first before brushing. Should I wait until my hair is fully dry, or is it better to brush it when it’s wet? Any advice on this would be helpful!

Would love to hear from others with similar experiences! Appreciate the help!

I have wavy hair and it behaves completely differently day to day. I attached 4 photos so you can see how big the difference is.

Some days it looks fine, like in photo 1, a bit wavy but mostly controlled and sitting straight. Other days it turns into harsh zig zag waves, gets puffy, and just sits on top instead of falling down.

What confuses me is I’m not really changing anything in my routine.

I use Tresemmé Rich Moisture shampoo and L’Oréal Evolve Hydraulic conditioner. After washing out conditioner, I sometimes use my fingers or a comb while the hair is still wet to try to give it some shape, then wrap it in a microfiber towel for around 15 to 30 minutes. After that I either finger style or brush once it’s fully dry. Sometimes I just let it air dry without the towel. I’ve never used a blow dryer.

I also shampoo my hair around 3 times a week, 2 times regular and 1 time with medicated shampoo for dandruff (white flakes, it’s controlled now). I use conditioner almost every day because even when my hair looks controlled one day, the next morning it’s worse more volume, more waves, more puffiness, looks dry, and harder to control. I also sleep on a satin pillowcase.

I don’t know if I’m brushing at the wrong time, if towel drying is messing it up, or if it’s just how I sleep on my left side curled up.

Anyone else deal with this or know what’s going on?

P.S. I’m also planning to try a leave-in conditioner next, probably from Tresemmé or L’Oréal since they’re easy to find here. I don’t know if it’s worth it or not.

I’ve been using CeraVe Foaming Cleanser for some time now (around 4 months). It works fine, but paying 8k every 2 months is kinda annoying.

I’m thinking to try Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser, but not sure if it’s actually good or just looks nice.

My skin is normal to combo, a bit oily on nose and forehead. I use Skin Aqua Sunplay sunscreen every day.

My main question is simple:
does it actually clean well or just feels nice?

Like will it remove sunscreen properly or I’ll end up going back to CeraVe again?

If anyone has used both, I’d like to hear how it was for you.
