Shock cannons + Corsair PVE

Ever since they buffed the shock cannons I've been trying them out on a variety of builds and I believe I found the right combo now for a very fun and flyable Corsair PVE build.

They raised the ammo for shock cannons AND made them full auto in their buff and now I have the following:

  1. Shock cannon - Large
  2. Shock cannon - Large
  3. Shock cannon - Large
  4. Beam - Efficient - Thermal Vent - Medium
  5. Beam - Efficient - Thermal Vent - Medium
  6. Beam - Efficient - Thermal Vent - Medium

With this build I can hang in a haz rez or if I want to grind out a massacre stack I can blow up a high rez for about 40 minutes before I have to gen some ammo or head to my carrier for a rearm.

With the TV beams I melt down the shields and still have a cool enough temperature state to squeeze off a long burst on the three shock cannons without getting too hot.

More to the point: it's a very fun combat experience. You can take down the shields at distance and then switch to the cannons for the close pass, cool off when you zoom away, and then turn around and finish them off. When messing with a wing of 3 pirates, I take out the weakest enemies using a boom and zoom method and still have shields left to duke it out with the remaining one. I absolutely love the TAT TAT TAT TAT of the shock cannons at close range. And because shock cannons will jitter after the initial burst, you generally only should use them at medium to close range.

With the corsair I have the speed to run down pirates or to escape if I get in a bad tangle and the corsair is agile enough to turn with the smaller ships or get behind the tankier heavies.

Don't get me wrong, I like the rescuing CG missions fine, but the pirate hunting CG goal seems like an afterthought. There's only 1 haz rez in the system, EDIT; now there are conflict zones popping up - there are no missions, just bounties or boosting out of interdictions.

Here is a suggestion for future ones that could integrate both rescue and pirate bounty missions that could improve both.

  1. Ramp up pirates actually attacking the burning stations
  2. Turn off station defenses so that players aren't blown away by friendly fire and also requiring players to be present to help rescuers in accessing and extracting.
  3. For the love of god actually offer valid pirate missions in-system

Forgive if any of this was already done during the Thargoid war as I missed that entirely.
