life at aku 🙏🏻

I know the MBBS program is known to be academically rigorous, but I was wondering whether you feel the experience makes up for aspects like the relatively short summer break (around three weeks), especially when compared to programs such as Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar, where students have much longer summer vacations during the pre-clinical years. In your experience, does the intensity of the curriculum feel worthwhile?

I was also curious about what a typical day at AKU looks like. What's the usual class schedule, how much time is spent in lectures versus self-study or clinical activities, and what does the overall workload look like on a day-to-day basis?

Lastly, AKU has a legacy of matching into competitive residency programs, but I was wondering about students who choose a different path after MBBS. How well are AKU graduates positioned for top master's programs, such as an MPH or an MBA at institutions like Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, or other leading universities? Is that something the university actively supports, or is the focus primarily on residency training?

Thank you so much for your time. I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.
