When did you have to get larger shoes?
I keep hearing stories of thru-hikers whose feet got noticeably larger along the trail, so much so that they had to size-up their shoes. How far into the hike do you notice this?

I've seen several internet health gurus promote static hanging for 30-60 seconds every day. Wondering what, if any, other static exercises are also effective?
I think I'm 6 months away from pulling the trigger and actually retiring. Wondering what advice or suggestions you have for folks this close? I'm intentionally being vague and not describing my personal situation in the hopes of getting a broad range of responses. Another way to ask would be: What do you wish you knew or did when you were 6 months out?
I’m planning my NOBO for next year. Wondering how well or poorly simple alcohol stoves work. I have one of those homemade cat-can stoves.
In two days I've purchased two pints on Ben & Jerry's ice cream, both were of the "Sundae" variety. And they both were equivalent to the worst possible grocery story ice cream you can buy. It was nothing more than cheap soft-serve in pint container. And so ends another iconic brand to corporate destruction.
To you military vets who have hiked the trail, were you able to utilize Tricare and/or VA healthcare for health issues while on trail? Anything I need to know?
I'm a relatively experienced backpacker, over the past 15 years I've done many weekends and one 5-day trip, in NH or MA. I will be hiking the AT in '28, or possibly even next year. Please help with some very specific questions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anytime I enable the video camera I get a message that it's going to use 4G. Do we have a limit on how much 4G we use?
Wondering why the Ice Cream Cafe in Orleans has lines way too long to wait in? Especially with two fantastic other ice cream shops pretty close by (Emack and Bolio's & Smitty's).
I’m on the outer Cape, between AirBNBs. Wondering what suggestions you might have for how to spend time until checkin this evening. Please, no food or beaches. We are father and adult son, so “shopping0 is not in our vocabulary
Back in 2008 I became obsessed with hiking the trail when I retire. At the time, I consumed I probably 20 books of the then recent hikers. AWOL, Barefoot Sisters, Green Giant, Sunshine, just to name a few. Wondering what are some good books now of recent hiker experiences. I’m about 2+ years away and want to stoke that fire again.
So far, my Lymow One+ has been working quite well. I'm very happy with it. I've had a couple/few hiccups but nothing like the pain I'm seeing described in this sub. I fear taking a firmware update is going to wreck things. What bad might come from this approach?
What maintenance tasks are you doing, beyond the anemic Chapter 5 in the User Manual? Has anyone figured out what needs to be lubricated? Or perhaps some nuts & bolts that need regular tightening? This thing is a machine that gets worked pretty hard. There has to be some things we can do, should do, to keep it in operating condition.
I know that the app has a toggle for "Automatic angle offset" for scheduled mowings which "randomly shifts by up to 30 degrees". I would prefer it shift by 90 degrees each time it mows. I just realized that I can create two schedules for the same yard; one that mows on Mondays at 30 degrees, another that mows on Thursdays at 120 degrees. That gives me two mowings per week, each at 90 degrees from each other. Good enough.
I see I can set a Stripe Angle under Mower Settings -> Advanced Setting, and also a Stripe Angle is specified under a schedule. The Advanced Setting can be "Optimized" but the Scheduled one can only be an angle. It doesn't seem the Advanced Setting can be used. What's the deal with that one?
After it’s done mowing the yard, it then starts mowing it again at 90 degrees. I simply want to mow the area once. Mowing at 90 degrees would be great for the next scheduled day.
I'm hoping to get some advice from experienced users without having to experiment by mapping and re-mapping to find out what works and what doesn't. I have a back yard scheduled for M-W-F, and a front yard for Tu-Th. The image is my front yard. I want to split the front yard into 3 zones so the striping will be as indicated. Can I set it up to mow all 3 front yard zones on one schedule, or will I have to set each new zone with its own start time?
