I've been doing a lot of tradigital art lately. (Drawing it traditionally and finishing coloring it digitally.) It's been a lot of fun. 💙
I love getting to that point in the legacy challenge where you are just accumulating so many funds you are just trying to find new ways to blow it. I prefer building up a mansion room by room rather than saving up money and putting down a whole build at once. It's so satisfying to add on a new section daily, lol. Newest additions: in-home bar/dance club, arcade, and movie theater with concessions. My entire Sim family is a bunch of fairies so I like to have plenty of stuff to occupy their many days on the planet.
I'm not the world's greatest builder but I do have so many plans to improve this once I finish furnishing it. I want to make sure I can fit all the desired objects within the building and then I'll adjust the exterior later.
Right now, there's no 1.20.1 version of the Golden Hopper mod for Fabric. There's future and past versions, just not for exactly 1.20.1 on Fabric.
Are there any alternatives mods that ya'll know of?
Or does anyone have a basic tutorial I could try to convert a future or previous version of the mod? Or maybe a tutorial to convert the 1.20.1 Forge version to Fabric? I'm not a modder or programmer but not technologically illiterate.
For the first time ever, I'm playing a Peaceful forever world! It's a new series I started on my YT. It's also my first time playing with the Peaceful Progression mod. I'm so used to playing on Normal that it feels a little uncanny, lol. It's much more relaxing though. Reminds me of when I used to play on Classic as a kid. :)
The only issue so far is iron farms. As much as I love going mining, does anyone have any vanilla-like mod recommendations to automate iron collection? Stuff that can be used on Peaceful. Any other mod recommendations are welcome too.
I originally began this legacy challenge in February of 2025 on my old desktop. I started with my fairy founder, Iris Color. I wanted her to become a famous actress and painter. Her lifetime wish is The Lifestyle of The Rich and Famous. She's meant to be a bit of an eye sore on purpose - 100% saturation with the three primary colors and white! I wanted a bit of a theme for my legacy.
I started in Legacy Island iii with the main center lot and absolutely 0 Simoleons. The backstory I came up with was that she had gotten a bunch of art scholarships and managed to go to university for free, but afterwards was left completely broke. A true starving artist. Her last remaining grant money was put into a trust that she could only use for the purchase of a home or land - the only issue being, it wasn't enough for a home! So that's how she got the biggest parcel in the city without a dime to her name! She did slowly work her way up, but I won't lie, it's been probably the craziest game I ever played. I temporarily had mods in that increased the "danger" without knowing I had them installed! Her home lot was hit by multiple meteorites, one of which killed her two best friends and almost herself during her wedding reception, and as she went to clean up the mess of their corpses she was struck by lightning, and later than night almost abducted by aliens, etc. Not exactly the honeymoon of her dreams.
Her husband is a bit of a "bad boy", Martin. I honestly forgot his previous last name, but he ended up taking her's. He has a sister, Missy Henry, and a brother-in-law, Ed Henry, in Legacy Island iii. The Henrys ended up having three kids. Martin's an acrobat. I loved that he wore dark colors, I felt it contrasted well to her brightness! He ended up taking a potion to become a fairy like her so she won't outlive him by decades! They had a set of triplet girls who keep their own color palettes - Prisma (yes, like the pencil, her name is Prisma Color) is in blue, Amitola claimed the yellow, and Iridana took her mother's red. I was going to have them end it there, but they kept rolling wants for more babies, and Iris wanted a boy! They ended up having twins, Noah and Arcus. I let Noah take a black color palette and Arcus with the white.
When the girls aged up to children, my computer gave out on me. My SSD failed. Complete kaput. I had no idea it was even dying until it was too late. I did make regular backups onto my other drive, but the last remaining backup was when the kids were all toddlers and babies. I lost multiple Sim days worth of progress. (MUCH worse on my Minecraft Java Edition forever world...)
Later that year, I built a new gaming PC that could handle TS3 much better, but I grieved my old game. It wasn't until about two weeks ago I decided to finally pick it back up. The save at that point was from April of 2025. I play with epic lifespans, and they're fairies, so that is still 3 whole IRL months of gameplay that wasn't lost. I decided to move the family, and Missy's, to Sunset Valley 2.0 for a fresh start.
The girls made it back to children now! First photo is from current save. Iris still hasn't completed her lifetime wish, because she's only celeb level 4, but Martin completed his ages ago since they both maxed out their careers. The girls are starting to develop their personalities. Amitola is going to be a bit of a wild-spirited painter and photographer. Iridana plans on becoming an author. Prisma wants to be a famous singer and maybe even join a band!
As much as I've been enjoying it, though, I got to get back to my YouTube legacy! I have episodes that have been sitting in my documents waiting to be edited...
I used porter to change towns but I noticed all the family photos that I had moved to the Sims' inventories now show up blank. Is there a way to save them? I'm moving them without the house.
Should I have placed in family inventory or is there another method I'm not aware of?
Does anyone here play the PC version of TS3 on Android? What emulator are you using and how did you set it up? I tried running MrDJ version through GameHub and also Winalator (though, Winalator was a lot more confusing) but I kept running into errors through setup and launch. The copies I physically own are through EA app (discs) not Steam so I can't use the regular Steam launcher with GameHub.
I've been using Razer Cortex to stream my gaming PC but it uses WAY too much data and won't load on my work's internet. (I work 12-15hr shifts overnight, I just sit at a desk a lot with nothing better to do.)
My goal is to be able to play the PC version on my phone (Samsung S24 Ultra) with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I would love to buy a Steam Deck, but I recently got a NEW Nintendo 3DS LL so it's going to have to wait a bit.
