We've come full circle in our outdoor adventures. I currently have anxiety thinking about some of the stuff we got up to in our first gen Honda CR-V 🤣

We've gone from just getting in the car and driving to eek long backpacking trips back to driving forest roads just to see what's out there.

Is $10k a crazy price to replace a Navien tankless?

Our tankless water heater is 12 years old and has started not working like it should. The company who does our yearly furnace maintenance quoted us $10k. This seems like a lot, but I really have no idea.

-Tank is mounted outside

-Natural gas -Seattle area

If & how do you decide or go about re-doing a tank?

I keep feeling like my 20 gallon is...meh. A lot of the dwarf sag is starting to not look so good and I feel like the rest is just a big green blob. I do like my giant Amazon sword though. Water params are good, Ph is a little low, but consistent.

Fish are all healthy. I bought 6 otos at Thanksgiving and still have 6 otos, so I guess I'm doing something right.

Should I just live with it? How would I go about "remodeling"if I decided to? Do I change the substrate? What do I do with the fishes while I'm working? Would the tank need to cycle if I use some of the same plants and the same filter (just a big sponge filter?)

Anbody else dealing with an absurd amount of Doug Fir "stuff" this year?

This is the third or fourth time I've had to clean it up. Hopefully after yesterday it's all blown down (and off the roof.) I wonder if it would be good mulch 🤔

Guys! It finally happened!

I saw a Goldfinch in my yard! I know it's the state bird (Washington) but I have literally never seen one here.

It was my Nana's favorite bird and I have one tattooed on my arm as part of a memorial piece. So seeing one (finally!) means a lot.

No actual pic because of window screens 😄

"Have you tried natural remedies?"

A rant...If you are having a lovely mother's day, feel free to skip this one.

Called my mom today, it being mother's day. My mom who never calls me, not even on my birthday and makes me feel guilty because I don't call more...

"Your brother was telling me he had a friend who has had three different cancers and has cured himself every time with natural remedies, have you tried those?"

My brother is super maga, anti-vaccine, anti-medicine, etc.

I kind of went off on her about how I'm not taking horse de-wormer or taking medical advice from RFK Jr.

"Oh, I don't know anything about it, I Just thought you might like to try something different."

She didn't ask how I was doing. Didn't ask how treatment was going, hasn't called once since I started treatment again, I kind of went off on her, how it's kind of insulting to someone with cancer to pull this kond of crap. I try to keep it to myself most of the time but...ughh.
