My roommate almost burnt the apartment down today.

My roommate almost burnt the apartment down today.

Despite the fact that I have told my Roommate to not put flammable items on top of the stove, he continues to do it. This time he put a roll of paper towels on top of a hot burner. If I hadn’t smelled the smoke the entire apartment could have burnt down. What do I do? I have let my landlord know and I have asked my Roommate no less than 15 times to not put flammable items on top of the stove, but for whatever reason he is unwilling or incapable of being a responsible adult. What do I do? I’m at my wits end.

Looking into a new telephoto

As the title says, I’m looking into getting a new telephoto lens. The RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM has caught my eye. I’m curious if anyone has other recommendations. The RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM is more in lines with what I want but it’s almost $1,000 more. I already have a 70-200 so I’m wondering it it would be better to get the 200-800 or if there’s a non canon option that has similar image quality, please let me know.

TIA

[New Gear] 6D -> R6 mkii

After 14 years of near-daily use, my trusty 6D finally said enough is enough. On Saturday, I went to pick up the R6 mkii and then took it out on an inaugural trip to Rocky Mountain National Park for a quick visit, and then Independence Pass the next day. I'm quite impressed by the R6, but my fingers will need some time to get used to the differences in the button layout. I do miss the weight of the 6D; the R6 definitely feels a lot more front-heavy, especially with the adapter, which pushes the lenses further out, but I'll get used to that in time. I do miss feeling the mirror slap as I shoot every shot, and I miss having a real viewfinder.

18th on campus

Does anyone know if 18th street on campus I open to public traffic in the summer? I just had back surgery this week and I need to go to a meeting on campus this coming Tuesday. I’m thinking I’ll take an uber to where I need to be if possible.
