Has anyone else experienced non-existent customer service from HJC? (long-winded story to follow):

Last spring I purchased an RPHA71 helmet from Modern Motorcycling in Vancouver (Canada). Shortly after using, the top vent cover disappeared (see photo) likely having come off when I removed helmet or adjusted while riding. I have since stuck some black duct tape over the hole as an interim measure.

I emailed support@hjchelmets.com on Aug. 10 last year to request assistance. Matthew replied on Aug. 15 with the following response: "When it comes to your location I will not be able to send you parts as we are located in California. As for our Parts Canada distributor they do not carry these vents. I would recommend a warranty with your helmet."

I then returned to the retailer who said they would contact their HJC Parts Canada supplier/wholesaler to request the vent and let me know and phone me when/if they could get one. No response from retailer despite two more visits to the store to remind them I was waiting and to ask why the delay. Each time they said they would try the HJC Canada supplier again and call me, but never did.

Realizing this was becoming futile, I again emailed support@hjchelmets.com on April 18 to let Matthew know I had given up waiting on the retailer and requested that he please provide me with the contact info for HJC's Parts Canada distributor, explaining that even if they do not carry the vent cover, my hope is that they could locate a used one from another helmet that may have been returned under warranty. I gave Matthew permission to provide HJC Canada with my contact info. He never replied. I emailed again on April 23 to ask if someone would be responding, and again received no response.

In May I found the HJC Parts Canada phone number listed on the hjchelmets.us website and left a voice message requesting a vent, and that if I did not hear from them I may need to return the entire helmet to the retailer under warranty. I asked for a response in the meantime, and received no response.

I again emailed support@hjchelmets.com on May 10 to report that I did not receive a reply to the voicemail I left with HJC Parts Canada, and requested a response from Matthew or anyone at HJC. Again, no response. I emailed again on June 23 to ask if support@hjchelmets.com was being monitored, and when I would be receiving a response. Still no response.

And here we are a year after the vent cover disappeared. If anyone has any HJC intel they could share it would be much appreciated (such as the direct contact info for HJC’s Canadian wholesaler).

Helmet was purchased for $500 on April 26, 2025. The top vent is a small, but not insignificant part, and seems a shame to have to return the whole helmet for lack of one. The duct tape has worked as an interim measure to keep the noise down, and I’m not sure if I would have ever need to ride with the vent open, so this is more an aesthetic issue than a functional one.

I painted my motorcycle. Applied 2K high gloss polyurethane top coat (rattle cans). Cured for a week. Wet sanded (2000, 2500, 3000 grit) to remove dust nibs, most of the orange peel, etc. Now rotary buffing with a sponge and Meguire’s Ultimate polish - and it’s not polishing. (See photo of tank.) Top coat was glossy before wet sanding. (See photo of rear fender and top of tank where I haven’t sanded or buffed). Now, the tank is very smooth but dull. Any thoughts on what’s going on or how to fix? Thanks

I took my front wheel off to replace the tire. Now I’m having difficulty getting it back on. Can someone tell me which side the spacer is supposed to go (I forgot to take a picture before I took of the wheel 😔). Microfiche no help.

Is everyone baking the par-baked bagels? I just opened my first box and they look good to go right into the toaster.
