Just pulled this dog tick off her, the bite was right under her chin at the top of her neck, and cleaned her bite wound. I am in northern New Jersey if that matters. I don’t know if I should be waiting until she exhibits symptoms to bring her to be checked or if the tick can be tested as well. Idk how long it’s been on her based on the size of the tick so I’m not sure how bad of a case this is and what the next step is. I have it sealed in a bag doubled down with tape so it can’t escape, saved for bringing to the vet if needed.
