Should I get this Singer 401A?

I found this on FB marketplace for $100 CAD including the table, I’ve read that the 401A is really durable and great for domestic sewing! She said it’s in excellent condition, but I wanted to ask here if any of you guys can see anything wrong with it (since I wouldn’t know what to look for).

Note: she said she’s not sure how to thread it properly which is why it’s like that lol

Also, I currently have a Singer Heavy Duty. Are there any special parts other than the presser feet and class 66 bobbins that I have to buy? Thank you in advance!

Biomedical laboratory technology as a non-QC student

I might apply in the next cycle to transfer to Dawson from my university, but I’m from NB so I have no idea how CEGEPs work. Does the program feel more like university or high school? Is attendance mandatory 8 hours a day every day, or is it like university where you have a lot of freedom? I’m also turning 20 and I’m worried I won’t fit in if everyone is 16-18.

Since it’s a technical program, do you still use the R-score system? I’ve heard how confusing and unforgiving it is, so I’m worried about not getting a good score. I’d also like to know how easy it is to get good grades in the classes for this program! Thank you in advance!

I majored in microbiology to help my OCD, and it did

I knew I wanted to major in a biological science but wasn’t sure which. I saw that my school offered a microbiology program and thought “wouldn’t this kind of be like ERP?” I already believe many fears are from a lack of knowledge and that the solution is education. I was at a point in my recovery that I felt like I could handle it.

Funnily enough, I LOVE my major and it indeed helped with the contamination OCD!! I’m so glad I didn’t let OCD prevent me from discovering my passion.

It was very hard at first seeing pictures of bacteria and mold (my biggest OCD fear). It was also hard when I had to grow bacteria myself, working with it up close and confronting the appearance + smell all the time. I still get triggered sometimes, like when mold or fungi appear on my plates. But I got used to it very quickly and my anxiety in daily life has reduced!
Just wanted to share a kind of funny win :) You are all so strong and capable of recovery!

Not saying I recommend this to everyone nor that this is all it takes to treat contam. OCD. I had already been in therapy and on medication, which is what helped the most.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro for multitasking/split screen

Hi! I've read a lot of reviews on the Idea Tab Pro but none of them mention how good it is at multitasking and split screen. I'm going to be using it for university where I like to split screen between my browser and my note-taking app, reading PDFs or watching videos while taking notes. I often have many browser tabs open but I don't plan to split screen with more than 2 apps. Is it able to do that with no lag?
