Flow (looking for constructive criticism)

Let me know what you think and how I can do better. I'm mew to making lofi and music production in general. This is my third track. I'm going for the vibe of putting it on in the background to be more productive

Looking for black owned and/or local businesses to support

I am a white local of muskegon. I was born here and this is my home town forever. I have been noticing the signs of Gentrification here and around like to battle that. Wealthy non-residents buy up our housing and our businesses while barely (if at all) even stepping foot here. Large corporations use our cheap labor to extract money from us and from wealthy visitors coming to see our beautiful beaches and parks, I can go on.

That being said, I don't have much money to spend but I would like some of the staples, consumables, and even just fun products I do buy to be from local business from the people that are actually from here. Preferably, I would like to support black owned business but also non-black locals as well just not the CEO'S from out of town.

Please leave your suggestions or your business in the comments below, sorry for the rant but at my job I witness these kinds of things daily and it's getting to me. I'd rather act in a more positive way but supporting eachother

Should I only post long lofi videos on YouTube?

I just started making lofi recently and make three songs that are around 3-4 minutes each. I've been posting them on YouTube but my goal is to do the 1 hour+ long ones for people to have on in the background. So should I not be posting single tracks in the meantime until I have enough for at least an hour? I'm worried the single tracks will clutter my channel and people won't see the long ones

My first ever pixel art

I know it's may, but I'm about to start working on a lofi christmas album and wanted to learn pixel art for lofi videos I make.

distrokid won't verify my youtube channel. "Please select a valid channel from the available options" error

My channel meets all the requirements (I checked over and over again) and I even tried the renaming hack but still nothing. I waited 2 days and still have the error when I try linking it. I have two music videos for the songs I uploaded on distrokid, and have a topic channel with those same songs. My names match exactly. idk what I'm missing here.

How do I write a melody on top of my chord progression?

Edit: I'd like to apologize if I seemed negative in the comments. I was just frustrated with my own confusion. I appreciate all the advice💕

I want to make lofi songs (mostly using piano as the instrument) from scratch but I'm stuck at writing melodies. I have a grasp on the chord progressions now but I'm struggling to understand how to create melodies on top of them.

I tried searching the internet for how to do this but I'm not finding anything helpful. I just get results for other things like how to make chord progressions or the "how to write a song" results will just tell you to come up with a chord progression and then will say "then you just make up a melody". Lol but how?

I understand to keep it in the same key as the chord progression but how do I make sure it sounds good with each chord besides just doing arpeggios?

If it helps, the chords I have for my current work in progress are Am7 Dm7 G9 and Cmaj7 but I want to understand the theory on how to make melodies with any chord progression

I tried using my piano keyboard with bandlab for the first time. Just bought a midi USB cable and it recognizes the notes I play no issue but not the sustain. The notes are very short. This happened when I used noteflight to transfer the notes from there too (but only sometimes?) when I had half notes it played sticado. How do I get my notes to not register as sticado?
