Anyone choosing to stay single and childless?

Just wondering. I find I’m at peak happiness when I’m out doing things on my own. I recently passed 40. Have felt tied down by romantic relationships. Enjoy my friends and never see myself having kids. Being able to do what I want spur of the moment still feels great. Anyone else?

Warning if staying at Sheraton Maria Isabel in Mexico City for World Cup

Just a heads up if staying at the Sheraton Maria Isabel in CDMX. This is right in front the Angel where the big celebrations for the world cup are happening.

After the game the other night (three hours after the game), I was crushed by the crowd trying to get back into the hotel, since for whatever the reason, they’re forcing guests to use the garage door entrance which is literally *at* the angel. The garage door was locked shut when I got back three hours after the game, going against a sea of people walking away from the angel.

As a guest, what’s frustrating is there’s an incredibly easy solution — there’s an entrance/exit in the Danubio tower that the hotel refuses to open, where there’s very few people, and a full block away from the crazy. I’ve asked and the answer I keep getting is “security is aware” which is mind boggling.

Anyway, just a heads up if you plan to stay here. The hotel seems to be avoiding the obvious solution to ensure guest safety (open the other entrance which is away from the crowd) and it’s honestly a little shocking. Four people died in the crush of people at the angel after the last game. It would be an absolute nightmare for Marriott if it happens to a guest.

When I messaged in the app, the response was to try to avoid entering and exiting the hotel between 6pm and 6am on Sunday into Monday. Sorta an insane answer given they hiked the rates like crazy for Sunday night because of the game *and* the hotel has an entrance away from the crowd, rather than the entrance that’s literally *in* the crowd.

How is the area west of Estadio Olímpico Universitario?

Anyone live in this area and have thoughts on it? I like that it’s so close to the Periferico, and not far from some malls, plus there’s a handful of grocery stores right there too. Seems like a nice quiet area, but would love to hear from others.

Thanks.
