I keep thinking about this photo…

I’ve seen people online saying things like “she’s all of us” or calling her the only hero in the photo, and while I understand the sentiment behind it, it’s yet another example of black women being forced to occupy a “heroic” position in society without a choice in the matter. I’m tired of us having to be on the frontlines and having to be strong all the time. It reminds me of that tweet by some famous white author about how “black women are going to save the world” or something like that. I don’t want to save the world, I just want to exist in peace. Anyway I hope the woman in this photo is ok, my heart aches for her.

Straight up some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had, but I can’t find anything about them anymore. They have a website but it’s barely functional. They used to have a spot in downtown Amherst but it closed and last I heard they moved to Greenfield, but I can’t find anything about it online. Does anyone know what happened? Are they still in business? I think about this ice cream at least once a day.
