As a T1D in the US, I am beyond pissed….
going to try to keep this story short but i realized i lost my insurance coverage when I had to get a new debit card and when i went to go update payment info i saw that i had lost my coverage. not sure how. i was set up on auto pay and had coverage for 3 months then lost it. in the process of getting new insurance, my endo mov d to a different city so i have to find a new one. with the insurance i have i need a referral so i schedule my appointment. i go to said appointment and ask for prescriptions because i know i wont make it to an endo appointment and im already running low. they tell me they will send them to the pharmacy and i confirmed 3 times before i left the office. that was this last thursday and still no prescriptions and no update as to when they will be sent over. i asked what i would have to do in the unfortunate event i run out and there answer was urgent care. as if i could afford that. like can we be so ffr?? i really don’t know what to do. in all my years being t1d i have never had to deal with this and i am truly stumped! the health care system in America is a fucking joke.
