Is it even worth it?

I just began my second quarter of hygiene school, and I just feel unsure. Is finishing dental hygiene school even worth it with all of the changes in laws around the country allowing assistants to scale supragingivally? I can see in the next 10 years this turning into assistants taking a crash course to learn to scale sub as well. Just a theory. Because of this worry of mine I’m feeling unsure whether or not all of this mental anguish hygiene school gives me is all worth it. What does everyone think?

I might be alone in this but has anyone else ever felt a sense of dread when thinking about everything you’re about to undertake when you’re about to start hyg school? My program starts in a little over a week. I just feel this sense of dread & maybe even a little bit depressed knowing I’m about to trade in my life of comfort and sleeping in and working from home for probably the most mentally difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life for a year & a half. Is this a normal feeling or maybe a bad sign??
