Have you heard “you only teach PE” before?

There seems to be a stigma, certainly amongst other educators, that seems to look down on PE teachers. They dismiss what we do as “easy“. And not “real“ education.

I’ve even heard this from people who are not teachers as well. I like to think it’s jealousy, because more often than that we get to enjoy our job. But I’d be lying If I said this didn’t bother me from time to time. Have you heard this?

Knowing my role has made multiplayer so enjoyable

I’m an older player who hasn’t played seriously since BO3. Work, family, and life separated me from cod.

So I got BO6 to scratch the itch, then BO7. And at first I was trying to play multiplayer like back in the day, hyper aggressive, playing for stats, score streaks, etc.

But that became frustrating as I realized I’m not the same player I used to be, but also don’t have as much time to get good at the game anymore.

Once I realized that, I started playing the objective, playing slower and more under control. I no longer try and be the best guy in the lobby. And you know what? It’s become so much more enjoyable.

I’m good enough to help the team, get decent stats, and have a blast playing for an hour or so at a time. I still occasionally go off, I still occasionally have stinkers. But letting go of the need to be the best in multiplayer was freeing. Anyone who’s frustrated online I’d encourage to think similarly

Longtime lurker. Just got out of the newborn tranches when we got a positive pregnancy test. Would like advice from dad who went though something similar

Our son is 14 months and we really started to hit a groove. Fast forward to today and we find out my wife is pregnant again.

Obviously this is a blessing and we wanted our children to be close in age. But I didn’t want them this close and this wasn’t planned, whereas the first baby was. I know this is a blessing but I’m currently angry with myself and in a state of shock.

I’m just looking to hear from any dads that have been in a similar boat. Thank you!!!

Dannen: "Nebraska has harmed itself in the past by being too quick to react when things didn't happen soon enough instead of giving enough time for the coach to build the program."

While I don’t think Rhule should be fired I think the last 10 years has been the opposite. Nebraska has been extremely patient in waiting for coaches to get it right,

while other P5 programs (Illinois, Indiana, Vandy, Ole Miss) can get a faster ROI after hiring a coach. I guess my point is that the program has been very patient for a P5 team

Is anyone else the last of their friend group that still plays COD? [COD]

I’m 28 and still hop on occasionally, and honestly I still have fun with it. Even with all the criticism modern COD gets, there’s just something about it that still feels familiar and nostalgic to me.

COD used to be the game for my friend group growing up. We’d all be online constantly. Now I’m basically the only one left who still plays it regularly. My friends still game, just not COD.

It’s kind of a weird melancholy feeling because the game still feels like home in a way. I’m the last one carrying the flag for our squad.

Anybody else relate? My melancholy loves company lol

Why does Lorne cry so much?

Been getting into this show a lot more recently. And between the sting, and all of the catfishing that happens, no other person cries as much as Lorne.

Is it a defense mechanism? Is it a way to garner sympathy? Surely it’s not genuine remorse. Even with the catfish, so many times during the calls he cries when things don’t go his way. This seems extremely odd, even amongst the people who were on the show. Why do you think this is?

What should have been

The A’s walked away from what should have been the perfect marriage for this legacy franchise to be a 21st century powerhouse.

The fanbase was there. The history is there. The swagger of both being united in a state of the art Oakland ballpark would’ve been the envy of the league.

I used to believe that with a new ballpark with the best fans in the world, the A’s could’ve been the best franchise in the league. Because at times, they were

We see how often the team can rebuild with new talent. We’ve seen players say how crazy of an environment Oakland was to play in.

A front office that spent on players, with the fanbase behind them, with a new ballpark would’ve engineered a new golden age for the franchise.

The Giants are the prettier franchise because of the ballpark & recent success. Haven’t done much since. They have legitimate fans, but not as many diehards as Oakland. The Giants enjoyed being the cheese & wine team in the bay.

I truly believe if the above happened, the A’s would (once again) dwarf them in fans and popularity. I truly believe we could’ve had another era with constant playoff runs, with thunderous backing of the fanbase, in a home that the entire region could be proud of.

I hate what’s happened. Fisher had a chance to be a generational hero, and threw it away for a quick fix.

It’s much harder to build a fanbase from scratch than one that’s had 60 years to grow. A waterfront ballpark in the Bay Area would’ve made him more money than anything in Vegas.

Leagues work best when you know the people in them. Thats why we are looking for multiple managers to join our startup dynasty league. It’s me and 3 of my friends that have been doing it forever, so the league should last.
