This happens every few months…

Looks like my neighbour got caught slipping.

Edit: I didn’t expect this post would get traction, it definitely triggered a lot of emotions (some understandable and others just ignorant/ didn’t read the below caption).

It’s hard to clamp down petty crime, at least they are not smashing windows at this time. Might use my robotics skills and make an auto turret lol.

Scx24 Power wagon - haggard long body

Submitting my haggard scx24 power wagon build.

Non traditional mods:

- The frame is custom, made out of 3 mm acrylic

- Retrofitted leaf springs from a 1:18 wpl rc.

- Cannibalized the og gearbox to extend the drive train with two drive shafts.

- oversized 5000 mah battery

It’s a fun rc to drive where the scale is 1:24 but my wheel base around 1:18 with 2/12T OD gears front and back. It can crawl, bash and mud lol.

Long body power wagon continued

I think I’m nearing the end game of this project. Those kraken tires have seen better days and might get into long distance fpv since I have a forest right by my house.

Going long body is definitely pushing me towards 1:10+ crawlers.

Haggard power wagon build continued, extended frame reusing old parts.

Made another frame that extends the wheel base a few inches.

I cannibalized the original gear box to connect two driveshafts and hold to it up. Surprisingly it works and holds up to abuse, only the second drive shaft pops off the yoke since it’s the og plastic one. Once I replace it with a metal one it should be good.

From a performance standpoint I lose a little speed but I can scale up walls closer to a bigger RCs.

Added wpl leaf springs and custom frame* to the power wagon (work in progress)

The outer frame is made from 3mm acrylic, didn’t expect it to hold up but it works very well and survived a number of thrashings, just the holes shouldn’t be too close to the edge.

The leaf springs are from Amazon for a wpl RC truck, I don’t think I really gain anything (most likely lost crawling performance), maybe it can tow better.

Ignore the giant 5000 mh battery, wanted something longer lasting when trailing, a lot of negatives with the weight vs crawling, I use my 1200 mh batteries for that.
