Read this fan fic. Hearts, Dice, and Destiny

Ok, I am mostly an Astarion girlie but this fanfic has me in an absolute chokehold. It has the best exploration of Halsin I've read (which, to be fair, I've only read maybe 2 other Halsin/Tav fics). But it's awesome. I discovered it, last weekend. And just absolutely blasted through it. I did nothing other than read it.

Anyone tried Happy Place yarn by TLYarns?

Title. I'm wondering how it feels compared to Plymouth Sea Isle because I absolutely LOVE how that feels. Same blend, merino and cotton.

My 22 year old autistic son is solo traveling for the first time tomorrow. Tell me it will be ok.

That's it, that's the title. We've known almost his whole life because he didn't talk on schedule and was in first language therapy, then speech therapy until 17. He graduated HS and is slowly working on his community college degree. He is living apart from me but with his brother in an apartment I fund near his community college.

He has traveled several times with us as a family but this is his first solo trip and I am a little freaked out.

EDIT: THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! It did help to read through your comments! I think he's ready, he thinks he's ready. It's time.

Planning my first crochet temperature blanket, yarn choice question

I started crocheting this January and I was immediately taken with the idea of a temperature blanket. Being older and presumably wiser, I didn't want to commit to such a big and long project until later.

I live in SF bay area (Mediterranean climate) so my range of daily highs are like 50-100 F. Most of the daily highs, however, are in the 60-75 range. I'm planning to have uneven ranges (5 degrees for some temperature ranges, 3 degrees for others) to account for this so the whole blanket isn't just one color.

I found an old photo, where I don't recall, of a temp blanket made out of squares where each square was stripes of color, separated by a neutral white or cream. So, Day one/separator stripe/Day two/separator stripe, etc. Then when they put the squares together, they turned alternate squares 90 degrees. ANYWAY.

Question: is DK yarn a good choice? I was thinking of going with Paintbox Yarns Simply DK for the color selection and price. 7x7 or 8x8 squares, joined in a 6x9 configuration. It wouldn't get too huge. It would be manageable squares every week. But it would leave me with a big amount of joining later. Alternately, I was thinking of Knit Picks Comfy worsted or Shine but I was worried those two options that contain cotton would be too heavy overall.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Something you wish you knew before starting your temperature blanket? all are welcome!

I've been crocheting for three months. Made a few bags, wrist warmers and hats. I want to make a short sleeve light cardigan for my mother. I already bought 1600 yds of Frutta yarn and was intending to make the Nadia cardigan by Mason Jar Designs. But I cannot make gauge. There is no universe where I can guess how high 3/4 (edit: 2/3 ) inch is for the so called "golden loop" to make a double crochet that tall consistently. Maybe in a year.

Anyway, so I just wanna make a sweater for my mom with the yarn I have. Nothing fancy. But something where the stitches have SOME relation to the size of the hook would be great.
