Did the Nacogdoches Whataburger used to sell fried taquitos?

I lived in Nacogdoches from 2007 to 2011 and I have a pretty distinct memory of getting fried beef or pork taquitos from the Whataburger on North Street.

They were like the kind of taquitos you get from the freezer section at the grocery store, but these were deep-fried so they tasted better.

I know that Whataburger still sells a taquito, but it’s more like a soft tortilla breakfast taco.

I’m wondering if this was maybe some sort of local franchisee breaking the rules or had an older more lenient contract with corporate.

TOMT crosspost: did Sonic Youth ever cover “I’m Not in Love” by 10cc?

It’s driving me crazy but I swear about 15 to 20 years ago I heard a cover of this song that sounded a lot like Sonic Youth. Probably mostly like Murray Street era.

No, I’m not confusing it with Superstar.

Does anyone know of a band this might be or if there was some bootleg where Sonic Youth did a cover of this?

Edit: the comment about Murray Street is not the timing of the release, but the sound, but this would’ve been released sometime before 2009 which is the approximate year I remember hearing it.

Additional notes that from what I remember, this was all guitars and no keyboard because I remember showing the song to someone and thinking it was a cool original song and then they pointed out that it was a cover and I was like oh yeah I forgot about that song. Then some time shortly after I heard the original on That 70s Show.

[TOMT][SONG] cover of "I'm Not in Love" that sounds like Sonic Youth, but isn't

I'm looking for a cover of the song "I'm Not in Love" by 10cc that I misremembered as being Sonic Youth, but it isn't.

I'm not thinking of the Sonic You cover of Superstar.
The song is in a sort of shoegaze style. I remember it having a male voice, but it could've been female.

The part where he sings "it's because" has sort of a low-fi distortion on it and the voice really sounds like Thurston Moore.

I first heard this cover about 15-20 years ago.

Edit:

I’m getting a lot of misinterpretations of what lo-fi vocal distortion sounds like.

I don’t mean reverb. I mean like the crackling and hissing that comes with low quality recording equipment.

Example the intro Pepper by Butthole Surfers recorded on a megaphone
