I'm trying to figure out what Lee uses for his "Robert Fripp in David Bowie's Heroes" kind of lead fuzz sound. It can be heard in several tracks. Is it a Big Muff? Just a few examples:

Thinking about going to see her later this month but I'm a bit apprehensive since I listened to her solo stuff for the first time recently and wasn't the biggest fan. I honestly just love going to shows and I'm a really big Sonic Youth fan so I'm considering pretty heavily. Is she good live? Does she play any SY songs?

I was thinking on getting an HB JA-60 for trying alternative tuning for playing Sonic Youth (post punk) and Nirvana (grunge). This would not be my first guitar. I have heard a lot of great things about this guitar and it's pickups. Would you recommend it for these noise rock genres or should I go for another model like a Squier CV Jazzmaster or something else (sub 500€)?
