WhatsApp grp

Hey guys I was trying to find more indieheads who are into stuff beyond the usual mainstream playlists.

Would be cool to make a small group/server where people can share music recs, albums, underground artists, rate drops, etc.

If you're interested then plz dm:)

Is studying psychology in India really worth it?

Is taking psychology actually worth it?

I’m currently in 12th/drop year and lately I’ve been realizing that engineering might genuinely not be for me. The problem is that almost everyone around me keeps saying psychology has “no future” in India and that I’ll regret leaving engineering.

But honestly, I’ve always been more interested in understanding people, emotions, behavior, why humans think/feel the way they do, etc. I genuinely enjoy listening to people and trying to understand them. Recently I also started getting interested in things like neuroscience and the human brain.

The thing is, I’m really confused because online everyone says different things. Some people say psychology is growing in India and has a good future if you’re passionate and willing to study further, while others say it’s unstable, underpaid, and not worth it unless you go abroad.

I don’t mind studying hard, but I’m scared of making the wrong decision and ending up unemployed or regretting leaving the safer engineering path.

So I wanted honest advice from people actually studying/working in psychology in India:

Is psychology genuinely worth pursuing in India?

What’s the reality of jobs/salary/growth?

Is neuroscience or cognitive science a better alternative?

What colleges/exams should I look into after 12th/drop year?

Would really appreciate honest guidance because I feel very lost right now.

(Ps: took help from chat gpt)
