6 hour IOG charge limit is understandable

I joined octopus at the end of Jan 2026. I have an Mustang MachE and have always charged it using my 7kwh charger. At the moment I am getting some building work done, so my drive is a bit of a storage space for bricks and other materials, therefore my 7m charging cable wouldn't quite reach my car. So rather than go to a public rapid charger I thought I have an external socket, and a granny charger that will reach. It will take a long time to charge slowly, but I can plug it in every night and that is fine.

I have just plugged it in at 8.30pm, it is at 53% state of charge. The Octopus Agility rate is currently 77.88p per kwh. Because the charge rate is so slow it has assigned me 8.30pm through to 8am, my scheduled departure time, every single slot at the cheap rate and warned me it wont reach my required charge percentage. My cheap rate is 3.5p per kwh. Now my whole house is getting that 3.5p per kwh rate and clearly Octopus will be losing money.

We may not like it, but clearly others have worked this out long before I stumbled on it and have been exploiting it.

Finally go naked?

My launch day 14 pro max has been in a skin, inside a case with a screen protector since day 1. Is now finally the time to risk it? I am probably going to replace it with a fold/ultra or if that is garbage, a 18PM for all the new AI features.

1 hour 40 layover in Heathrow?

Is that enough time?

I have the option of the 6am flight out of Newcastle to get to Heathrow at 7.20am, or the 9.30am flight to get to Heathrow at 10.50. Flight out of Heathrow is at 12.30pm. I am going with my 5 year old daughter, so the idea of getting her to Newcastle airport for 4am doesn't sound that appealing, but 1 hour 40 is under the time the online booking allows. So while I can do it over the phone and it will allow it. There is obviously a reason for that, and I will have the worry of anything being slightly delayed and we miss our next flight.

We've never done a transfer with less than 3 hours put down before.

EDIT, will be flying into and out of terminal 5 so no changing terminals

EDIT2. Wife has gave her opinion. We will be taking the 6am flight and chilling out in the lounge when we get to LHR. We will have the lay flat seats on the plane so could have a snooze if needed.

Home renovation

I am doing a back to the brick home renovation starting in a few weeks. I will be running new network cabling for the TVs back to a patch panel in my garage. I will put some in for WiFi access points on the ceiling in various rooms, but my TP link WiFi 7 mesh will do for now. I already have network cables going to our home offices.

So my question is, if you were in the same situation, what else would you pre-cable in if you were in my position?
