Fit Series 22 delivered today. I'm pumped. I'm really stoked I was able to find one in red. I'm pretty new to bmx bikes. I've got a 20", but I'm 6'4" and I wanted to try out a 22" and see if it might fit me a little better. I haven't really had any time to get out and ride it because I just got home from work, but I'm off tomorrow and I'm heading to the park first thing in the morning.
Visiting Austin, decided to check out Empire. Been wanting a guard sprocket. Really liked this Magnolia one.

For context, I'm familiar with the kind of background info on the subject. Thread-on pegs are a no-go for grinding. A lot of times, that style is made from less durable material. When you see knurling, that's usually a cue to check for thread-on.. I get that.
I just grabbed a set of sleeved pedals for my bike, and I'm at the start of building out a bike for a friend. He saw a picture of my bike with pegs and seemed interested. Today at work, somebody handed me a pair of pegs and said I could have them. Thing is, they're knurled, but they aren't thread-on, and they feel like steel. The knurling isn't super aggressive. I feel like it would wear smooth pretty easily. I assume for street riding, on concrete ledges, they'd be a real pain at least in the beginning. At a park, though, where most grindable stuff has a metal edge, is it a viable option. I would love for this to work out cause they were free and it kinda sorts out that aspect of the bike I'm building
They're SE. I know they're listed as wheelie pegs, but apart from the knurling, they seem to check the right boxes. Anybody have experience?
Finally got my hands on a set I've been wanting. Ultem shells and Ti newts. If you've seen my other posts here, you might be thinking "how many sets of titan hardcores does this dweeb need" and the only answer is ALL
There's some issues with the setup right now. Cord is a little too short, and the aluminum cores feel terrible because they have like no weight, but these are pivot tubes for skateboard trucks on newtons and I really like them as a PU shell
I can't remember what the style was called. If I'm remembering a thing that actually exists, it only has plates between the rollers on the outside. Inside it's empty space and the rollers kinda stick off the backs of the outside plates like knobs. I don't remember if it was bmx-specific. It seems like it would be ultra lightweight, but also might not be very strong. I just want to know what it's called so I can look up pictures of it
Taller bars closer in, fresh grips, pedals that actually match. I think it's done now, but maybe not quite. Thing looks fuckin massive
So, I mentioned last night that one of the stock hubs on my bike kinda self destructed, and I promised pictures of the new parts. So, here they are. Technique Cyclone hubs, basically a clone of the 1st Gen TNT Revolvers (no flip flop). I think they look great, they're a massive upgrade, and they're half the price of the reissue TNTs. Also did a chrome seatpost and the KMC Kool Knight chain. This was my first time building wheels, and I think it went pretty well.
Maybe my bike is the only one, but also maybe this will help somebody else. If you're riding a Crew bike and you notice substantial freewheel wobble and uneven chain tension accompanied by intermittent brake pad contact on both sides even when you've verified the wheel is pretty precisely true and it's straight in the frame, check your hubs. This is my rear hub off a bike that's just a couple months old. Initially I thought the freewheel might be cross-threaded on the hub. So, I already replaced it and, during that install, the lead tech at my shop said "wow, I've never seen a hub made like that". At that point, I decided I'd better go ahead and order some replacements. Rebuilt wheels today and I'll post some pictures of that tomorrow. This is a part of the bike that comes preassembled. So, I don't think this is some rookie error that I made. I didn't try to have it warrantied because there were other hubs I wanted anyway, but keep an eye out. This seems like it could be pretty serious if it were to fail badly while you're on the bike.
I like my first set of delrin titans so much that I had to get them in black with brass newton cores. I'm running these with a little bit longer cord than the others. So, I'm still getting used to that but they feel good and I love the way they look
