updated results & photo + illustrative

(sorry for the repost, just added my illustrative on too). i put my results to the highest confidence scale. 6.7% unassigned is spooky lol. on the other confidence scales, 0.6% trace is Russian. The Peninsular Arab is Bahrain and Kuwait, and scored as 2.1% on other models... :)

mizrahi (persian) jew question

hi, this is my results - i'm a female but trying to look into my dad's ancestry as i feel like he had jewish heritage in his family prior to either forced conversion in Iran or having to continue as crypto-jewish. there's many reasons why i think so, for example my dad allegedly had a few relatives with interesting names (all on his mum, so my grandma's side). His uncle told him he had a relative called Dawud Kohan (all of this was before the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and in Bushehr). He also had a great uncle with the last name of Canaani. He also had a relative who was called Setareh outwardly but would be named Esther in the home. All of my dad's family have double names including himself. His family had migrated to Bushehr in the Qajar dynasty era from both Bahrain and Kuwait. His family were very vocal to him about not being muslim. They also frequently faced abuse from Muslim/Arab neighbours in Bushehr at the time shouting things at them and saying they are not one of them. My mother is Qashqai and Bakhtiari tribes from Indigenous Iran therefore I believe a lot of my DNA has been heavily affected by that, and since Qashqai / Bakhtiari doesn't have a category it tends to put me into Kurd/Turk for her side as a note. If anyone is able to help - maybe let me know of any distant or recent indicators? I am really interested to look into it all further but want to distinguish things through my DNA first.

need help identifying ancestry

hi, i’m new to all of this but i’ve just been messing about with illustrative and got the following. i’m a female trying to look into my dad’s (potentially Mizrahi Jewish) family history. for context, 23&Me was able to identify as far back as Bahrain & Kuwait before they migrated to Bushehr around the Naser al-Din Shah Qajar
period of Iran. he told me that they were not muslims at all, and there was indicators of Jewish ancestry, for example my dad’s uncle briefly made a passing comment one time that someone who was called Dawood Kohen (went to the same high school as him) was his relative. He hadn’t questioned it further at that time but this was in the early 70s before the Islamic Revolution. We believe that even if there was Jewish ancestry, whatever it was, was either forcefully stopped amongst them due to fear or continued as being Crypto-Jews. Does the results I’ve got on Illustrative indicate anything interesting in relation to this? 23&Me also flagged a few interesting things but not sure if I can share on this subreddit - one of them was that a distant relative of mine currently resides in Israel. Also FYI, mother’s side is Qashqai + Bakhtiari tribes so there will be elements of that unfortunately mixed in and distorting the results I am looking for (especially since they don’t have their own category either). Any help is appreciated! :)

someone pls help

does anyone know what this means? it’s on the unsupervised version. new to illustrative and trying to find christian/jewish ancestry.

further info that i thought might be relevant is that it shows 8% Phoenician in the Iron Age, Natufian Hunter-Gatherer 11.2%, Zagros Neolithic Farmer 27.6%, Bronze Age Caucasian 31.8%.

DNA results + question

Hi, me and my dad have been trying to figure out whether his family were Crypto-Jewish in Iran (originating from Bahrain and Kuwait). My mother’s side is Qashqai & Bakhtiari - therefore I believe anything relating to Turkey, Kurdish or Azerbaijan is more her. Here are my results, if anyone can please help me understand it better? I also got Natufian Hunter-Gatherer 11.2% if that’s relevant. Thank you :)

my results + photo + question

definitely what i was expecting for the most part but me and my dad were talking and there was a lot of indicators that his family may have been Mizrahi Jewish. The small part of Arab is 100% from his side, but I am intrigued if anyone else is able to figure anything out from these results and has any info? Not completely sure about the Russian and Chinese?? Waiting to receive my raw DNA to put into Illustrative or GED to look further into it too
