Heavy Fall soccer families with kids who are great basketball players, what does your Fall bball training look like?

U12 Pre-ECNL. Practice is 3-4 days/week with two games. Practices are typically Monday-Thursday for 2 hours. Games are on at least 1 but usually 2 days of Friday-Sunday.

Her bball travel club is year round. She does not go to everything (or even close to it) in the Fall. However, she’s a great player (probably better at basketball than soccer) so I just want her to maintain and get some bball gains until soccer is over.

How many days/week are the kids training bball with this type of soccer work? 2-3 days/week of bball? 1 team practice? 2?

Obligatory “It depends on the kid and if they want to practice.” She does. But I’m the parent and I’m trying to decide what’s best for her body and development. She would practice every single day. I’m just trying to be the seatbelt.

Thanks.

I am not a protected class (W/M). I was punished for protecting someone who was being discriminated against. Do I have any recourse?

I was not punished for any of the protected reasons. I was punished for protecting an employee who was being discriminated against. That employee filed an EEO.

However, I was punished long before this person filed. I am the main witness of the EEO, but I can’t use “retaliation” since I was punished before the person filed.

Do I have any recourse?

Thanks

Former top performers who were screwed over, how did you successfully become “average” without being obvious to management?

Basically…those of you who were high performers but were passed over for a promotion, bonus, etc one too many times where you finally said, “Yeah that’s it, I’m going to be average like everyone else.”

How did you do it without being accused of quiet quitting, etc?

Personally, I was promoted about a year ago after doing well after being a high performer since I began at this company. I had some issues with some people on my team who were doing very, very little. Notably, they had been that way for years. However, I never worked on projects with these people as their equals because I knew they were lazy.

However, now I was their boss and not only responsible for production, but for employee morale and making sure someone wasn’t working 60 hours to make up for their 10 hours.

I made it an issue with people above me and it was ignored and I was told to handle it. Well, I handled it. I had difficult conversations with people who then went and complained above me saying I was being unfair.

I was told that I “rocked the boat too fast” after getting the job and that I was going back to my previous position. I will admit, I was absolutely shocked that it happened. But after that I mentally checked out.

I took some sick leave for “my back that had been bothering me” for close to a month. I then had some other family things come up so I took some more leave.

However, it’s not expected I become this hard charging worker bee again. I work hard by nature, but I’m not going back to the worker I was.

The question is, how can I be average without being accused or not trying out of spite?

Traveling with a very nice camping chair that I don’t want damaged: cheapest way/smartest way to protect it in checked baggage?

I have free checked bags, so it’s not cheaper to buy ones at my destination.

And no, of course I didn’t save the original shipping box :(

Neighbor’s kids scream 5-6 hours/day. I can’t do this all summer. What is the solution?

I’ve read other posts about this problem but haven’t seen a solution that has worked.

They have 5 kids between 10 and 2. They put their kids in the backyard and it’s all out screaming all day.

My home office is in the back of our home. I legitimately can’t do work calls from that room. I have the black out blinds. I also have a fan on. It doesn’t compare.

The family is very oblivious to general things also. I don’t necessarily think they are bad people but that doesn’t excuse it.

Has anyone successfully approached a neighbor saying. “I know it’s summer. I was a kid once. I also have kids myself. Being outside in the yard is fun. But honestly, the constant screaming hours on end has become distracting. Is there any possible way you can limit the screaming to an hour or so per day rather than 5-6.”

Retaliated against as the main witness - before testifying. Enough to file retaliation EEO?

If a manager retaliates against an employee (who is the main witness of an EEO) after the EEO is filed against that manager, what burden of proof does the aggrieved part have to prove that manager knew the person was a witness?

Example:

Witness observes someone being sexually harassed. EEO is filed by aggrieved. Subject is notified.

The next week, the witness is moved to a different assignment at a separate office that increases the person’s commute by 90 minutes.

Does the person have a righteous retaliation claim? That they were retaliated against as a punishment and/or to dissuade that person from testifying?

Thanks.

Is it normal for a supervisor to deny leave in the summer that’s more than two weeks?

17 year employee here. I save my leave and use it in the summer. Every year. I typically take 3 weeks in June, 1 in July, 1 in August. This is specifically because my kids are home and it saves us a ton of $ on camps and daycare.

I have a new supervisor. On Friday, he goes “I see you pit in for 3 weeks of leave. Then another week in July And week in August. Any particular reason why you’re using that much? Seems excessive for a 3 month period.

I explained what I mentioned above. It saves my family 5 weeks of daycare per summer. The other 5 weeks of summer my wife takes off. It has worked for us thus far.

He said he didn’t think he could approve that much leave because of “how busy we are.”

Is this normal? Do I need to now come up with a phantom illness/depression/etc? We have zero plan for daycare this summer and it’s almost June. I haven’t had leave denied in 17 years.

Thanks.

Why can I never cook my chicken correctly? Always undercooked or dry. I have tried everything (I think).

I have tried gas grill, oven, and stovetop.

I’ve made the breasts as thin as possible by pounding.

No matter what, without fail. My chicken ends up too dry or undercooked.

Why can’t I just cook 2-3 pounds of chicken for the week without messing it up?

Any tips? Thanks.

How soon before retirement did you/would you start figuring out your next job?

I don’t think there are a lot of retired guys on here, but if so, please indulge us.

For currents, when are you going to start seriously looking?

Hearing has significantly gotten worse over 17 years. Non-Veteran. What are my options/paths?

Non-Veteran. 17 years in.

My hearing loss/tinnitus is awful. I have hearing aids now. Do I have any options since the job caused it? Or is “wear hearing aids” the answer?

Can I get a Cialis script from Teladoc? After that, then where should I bring for cheapest?

Looks like my insurance won’t cover ED meds.

But once I get the script, where should I send it for the best prices? I need at least 10 and usually 20mg for “one time” use and would prefer to not have to use the 5mg daily.

Thanks.

Out of my Cialis prescription. Wife wants sex tonight. What can I take in a pinch?

My prescription won’t be ready until tomorrow. Wife wants to fuck tonight.

What can I get in a pinch today? Anything from the gas station that won’t kill me? Honestly a one time use thing but I want to make sure I’m hard. Wife’s sex drive has been really low and it’s been a once every couple of week event.

Thanks

How do I go from being a high performer to “forgetting” how to do things/doing less without being blatantly obvious?

The entire story doesn’t really matter. Basically I was a high performer for years. There was a work conflict that happened where I made a stand about people not pulling their weight on a team project (for the 50th time). The manager above my manager moved me off the team because i was “being too hard on co-workers and messing with morale.”

I am now on a different team, but I have been introduced as a guy who “can do it all” and a “workhorse.” But I’m not going to be those things on this new team since I was more or less disciplined by being moved to protect feelings.

It’s the same exact job I just cover a different state/area now, so I can’t pretend to not know the job. But how do I basically say fuck it and do the bare minimum without being obvious? Because I’m done. But I need this job so I can’t chance getting fired. Sure I could get another job, but this is just not the right time for me (family related) where I could lose a job.

Thanks.

I understand the possibility of falling. That’s not what I’m asking.

I’m talking the arm swinging back and forth. Is that something that would slow down the healing process?

Thanks.
