SEO/GEO Reviews

Hi, offering a free review of your SEO metadata, JSON-LD, llms.txt, etc. to make sure your site is ready to blow up on Google/Bing and AI searches.

The catch is that I am getting to test my work.

Issues with Luna

Since there are no more resets I’ve been using Luna to work for longer. I recently discovered that it made an issue naming a folder.

new-drection instead of new direction.

I thought this was on a one off. But just to be sure I launched a Sol session to check the work that Luna did.

There’s a lot of consistency issues, some guidelines were not followed, and there’s a lot more on the final report I got. I had only started my own review so I didn’t get to most of the stuff until Sol pointed me to.

This makes me really fearful of using Luna for changing some text around based on present guidelines.

Should I just use Sol always then? Or how is the review for Terra? I’m trying to strike a balance between usage and correctness but correctness absolutely is much more important.

Any advice is appreciated.

Can we please moderate the ads?

I’m on the free version of chess.com, playing on the iOS app.

I don’t mind ads, I think they are an important source of money for the freemium apps. I just want to ask if there can be less shitty ads.

Ads asking me to watch an AI slop movie? - weird but okay
Ads asking me to click to get money? - Scam and wrong. It could affect players who are younger and not aware that the internet is a shitty place.

Does anyone else see the scammy ads? Surely there must be a rule against this?

Looking for advice on selling services to the government (state/central).

GeM and CPP help advertise tenders and etc. for providing goods/services to the government. It's kind of hard understanding how to navigate the portals.

I want to know if what are the ways that worked for you to get your product/service for governmental organisations. I believe the majority will say networking, but if you could provide more details about how exactly did you get started and what is the current process that would be great.

Advice on optimising load times and bundle sizes on animation heavy (mainly client components) websites.

I have been looking into @next/bundle-analyzer and the report it generates.

I have been told that a website I’m working had slow load times. Now I’m looking at the reports and I can see what could be the few issues with everything.

If anyone has any other advice or generate more intuitive reports/workflows that would be great.

I have googled the issue a lot but it all seems very generic advice and so I wanted to ask people.

The main issue with my site is that it’s loading Lenis, GSAP, large amounts of text data stored in the server and because of GSAP everything is a client component. So if anyone who has experience with these plans could help me out that would be great.

Edit 1: Lighthouse reports. I have been testing and optimising for desktops for so long like an idiot and never bothered to consider checking out the mobile version. I think I should get rid of GSAP entirely for mobiles and it make it boring but at least interactive and something people would want to use.

Need help from experienced software devs

TLDR: Working on an e-commerce backend with PHP (Bagisto) and front-end on Next.js. What are the things I need to look out for beyond the basics?

Below is what I have already covered
- auto-gen invoice
- CMS for changing content + SEO
- payments via stripe
- rate limiting
- docker containerisation and MySQL db for storage
- found the VPS I will be hosting it on. (Some setup here is needed as well I presume, but that’s a story for later)

Here’s what I know I could use some help with
- what to think about in terms of data security, data compliance, etc.
- what to think about in cybersecurity terms.
- Prevent API abuse

I don’t need really long answers, I just wanted to pointed in the right direction. Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Any advice is great.

Country based matching

Has anybody observed that depending on the time of day you play, you get matched with players from certain countries more often.

This wasn’t a difficult observation but a little while later I found out that my win/lose ratio is highly dependent on this as well.

I win better in the mornings or late nights. During the day I lose more often than win.

I’ve been trying to game this ad it worked out well, jumped my ELO pretty quick (1200 to 1500) and currently hovering around 1450.

Just a stupid tactic for a quick increase in ELO if you’re looking for it.

Looking for the best open source products.

I am building a small reference point for vibecoders so that they can start building easier and faster.

The idea is to have a list of self-hostable open-source tools that can make your jobs easier. Instead of paying for a CMS or building your own use something like Payload or Bagisto.

Here is the current link if anyone is interested.

https://brownsmithdynamics.com/coding-tools

I am looking for additions - I expect a github repo at the minimum. A website for your product and a skills folder would be great too.

This is not a list for SaaS or any paid tools. Just plain and simple open-source alternatives to them.

I believe that with LLMs a lot of people just might write their own code. It would be useful to have a directory you can browse to see what tools come pre-built so you do not have to repeat a lot of the work.

Please drop your suggestion or your products below! Self promo (of open source tools only) is also welcome.

How do people track decisions taken via WhatsApp/telegram?

I wanted to understand how other business owners handle it.

Let’s say during a week you have:
- customer calls
- supplier calls
- WhatsApp conversations
- discussions with employees

A lot of important information gets exchanged, but much of it never ends up in a formal system.

Examples:
- customer requested special pricing
- supplier promised a delivery date
- employee reported a recurring issue
- someone agreed to follow up next week

How do you keep track of these decisions over time?

Do you rely on memory, notes, WhatsApp search, spreadsheets, CRM software, or something else?

I think individuals can use apps like Notion or just put things into their fav LLM or openclaw. But for a small team that doesn’t want to invest in let’s say Teams or like business plans, how do they establish authority nd trust?

I am looking for an easy way to connect with others that doesn’t require a lot of training

Finally found them worth it. Switch 2 Review.

I have been using the switch 2 for a few weeks now.

They aren’t as performant as what I’d expected them to be but it was alright overall so I didn’t return them.

I mainly used them in 3 settings

  1. Desk
Had 2 constructions going on in the vicinity which had me pretty annoyed. Putting the switch 2 made me feel like the noise was coming from further away. It took away the painful parts of the drilling noise, but I could still hear them, like white noise.

My ANC did a better job here but I don’t want to have earphones in 24/7 and my speaker was useless because of all the noise.

Loop was a good alternative, but wasn’t fully satisfied. I wish it blocked even more noise.

  1. Walking outside
India is kind of loud to live in. These helped a lot to minimise certain kinds of noises but overall didn’t not work too well.

ANC earphones worked much better and since I wasn’t walking much I would just use my earphones.

This changed when there was a hailstorm.
We had an open balcony that was later covered up with a high tin shed, just to be able to put some plants and sit without worrying about the sun or rain.

The tin shed got obviously really loud when the hailstorm started.

I put them in and walked underneath the shed and was unimpressed. I thought I hadn’t put them on the max setting so I took one off to make sure.

The noise was deafening. It was horrible. It was like a screeching sound combined with 808s. I put them back on in and finally found them worth it.

I tried on my ANCs but the experience was rather horrible. The hailstorm overpowered the ANC tech.

——————————————————

If you want to prevent noises that are really sharp and hurt your ear, loop might be the thing for you. The drilling and the hailstorm weren’t completely gone but they didn’t bother me too much.

It went from “I hope this stops soon” -> “it’s not bad”

Would definitely recommend a buy.

Going to try them out at a concert soon too.

The biggest issue I’ve faced is finding the right size for the ear tips. The medium is slightly small and not adjusted well, and the large just slightly stick out at times.

Guess that’s more of a personal issue though. The memory foam could be great though.

PHP on node.js VPS

So hostinger offers node.js specific VPS. I can add up to 5 websites.

I want to see if I can

  1. Host a node.js website (obviously) (front end only)
  2. Host a PHP website on the same VPS (I see the options but I’m unsure) (backend + CMS)
  3. Use the provided mySQL database with the PHP backend

This is the specific kind of VPS I am talking about
https://www.hostinger.com/web-apps-hosting

I know these can be done individually, but I wanted to know if it is possible to get this done on a single plan.

Would this work on the node.js VPS. It doesn’t sound like it should but it does give me the option to host 5 websites and this is not a serverless platform so I’m thinking maybe.

I’ve looked online and worked with AIs to get this answered but I’m only getting lame solutions.

Can anyone help me out?

It’s for an e-commerce store if that makes a difference.
