I hope you wander all the stars together. Rest in wonder.
This is John and Rain (also pictured: our friends dachsund, Ladybird) I recently learned that he was found dead with his dog in his tiny home. Likely carbon monoxide poisoning.
John was an extremely good friend of mine. He was there for me when I was at one of my lowest moments. He was the big brother I needed. We rescued our pups together off some street kids and together we learned so much about owning dogs and especially owning cattle dogs. When we figured out that Rain was deaf, this man took sign language classes just so he could still train her properly.
John was a wonderful human with wanderlust and demons in his heart. He and Rain would often go train hopping across the country, busking from coast to coast. I know he never found what his soul was searching for in this life. I really hope he is able to find it in the next.
Wander on, brother. Hold a seat at the next stop for me. I'll bring my banjo when my time comes, and we can sing to the stars.
