What should I know?

Alright, so I've had my mind made up and heart set on getting a new Honda HRV since abt March. BUT, for some reason I keep coming back to Mazda. I had initially crossed them off my list for three major reasons: the cargo space in the CX30 is actually less then what I have now in a '12 focus hatchback, bc the remote start is behind a paywall after the first year, and I simply dont know much about Mazda in general other than "Zoom Zoom". But since I keep coming back to brand, I've decided to un-cross them from my list and go deeper in my research.

It seems a new CX30 aire edition (non-turbo) would be the best option for me. Besides this post, my next step is watching 1001 youtube videos, and then definitely to get behind the wheel of the CX30 to really see if it fits.

Heres where I need your help: what should I know about Mazdas in general and specifically the CX30? What do you dislike about it? What do you wish you'd known before purchasing? Anything thats annoying or wish theyd change? Any recent recalls or issues that multiple people seem be having? Need to know maintenance schedule? Quirks and concerns?

And if you were comparing the HRV and CX30 before, what made you go with the CX30 in the end?

Thanks so much!

Used vs New

I was planning to purchase a new HRV EXL later this year however, I keep having people tell me to never buy new and get a used one. I only want an HRV '26 or newer based off some of the upgrades done with the year. I've started searching around and all the '26 are VERY close in price to new ones. Like 2k less. (US Market, SE VA.)
So is it worth it to still get used to save 2k and have less time on the factory warranty? Is there another view point I'm actually missing with all this bc it seems like buying new would still be the way to go. Thoughts and thanks!

Should I be "Out with the old, in with the new"?

Hope this is a good subreddit for this question...

(US Market, SE Virginia)

I drive a 2012 Ford Focus hb. It has about 87700mi on it and although they are known to have transmission issues, ever since mine was fixed not long after I got it in '15 I've had zero issues. The car has been really good to me, but I know its time will come - it is a 14yr old car.

So, I'm ready for a new car (and I am tired of sitting low to the ground). I want to be able to trade/sale the Focus while its still worth something rather than have to do a quick run around because it needs work and I need a car, and at that point I won't get as much for it.

I've got my eye set on a new model Honda HRV. I've been doing research and test drove one a couple of months ago so, I'm 98% sure that's the car I'd be going after. I really liked it.

The question is would YOU continue driving this particular make and model car - an older generation known for issues albeit, they'd been fixed - or would you go through with a purchase and a brand spanking new car payment?

I feel like lots of people say drive it until the wheels fall off, but I kinda don't want to. I guess I'm trying to get a second/third/fourth opinion just b/c I'm so set on getting a new car and probably got rose coloured glasses on and just maybe it's NOT the best option...
