Online beginner training post surgery?

Very specific question for sure! 5 weeks post sleeve. Just started walking 3+ miles a day again. Want to add in strength training next month.

I haven't been to a gym since Covid started due to work ramping up. I don't really have time to go after work now, either.

Anyone know of a trainer who can work with a total weight beginning online in the context of recovering from surgery?

Thank you!

I (38F) want to ask my boyfriend (39m) to move out. Should I pay for movers?

Long story short – – I've been with my boyfriend for about 10 years, and we've been living together for two years. We are both on the lease, although I pay about 90% of the rent since I make significantly more money. I love him, but living with him has been very hard for me. I think it's time for us to part ways.

Ultimately, I'm going to talk to the landlord, but I imagine I'll take over the lease since he can't afford it on its own. He works about 45 minutes away and has lots of family and friends in that area. He's always talked about moving back to that city, so in a way this might work out for him. I hope.

My question is, should I pay for movers? Moving costs are very expensive where we live. Initially I was going to offer to rent a U-Haul and help him move. But with the right thing be to hire movers? It'll put a big dent in my budget and probably eat up some savings. Ultimately though I can afford it and I know he can't.

Thank you

Tl;dr: i'm going to ask my live-in boyfriend to move out. We share the lease, but I can afford it on my own. Should I offer to pay for movers?

Ghrelin levels post-op

I had a question: I know there is no way to know but I feel as though my leptin/ghrelin levels are all the way off. I had surgery on 5/27 and have noticed a reduction in hunger hormones (although I'm still miserable dang). I also know these hormones will increase again.

My question is: does anyone know if they will return to pre-op levels or normalize? Especially if I stick to the recommended calorie amount? Thank you

How to enjoy summer

Hi SFBWT,
This is going to be my fourth summer in San Francisco, and I'm not quite used to the vibes yet. I'm from a very warm and sunny place, and I honestly feel like the summers in San Francisco give me seasonal affective disorder. I live and work on the western side of the city, which I know can't help.

Other than going back home to visit family, does anyone have any suggestions of how to really enjoy summer here? If picnics and hikes aren't necessarily as pleasant in summer, does anyone have any other activities they enjoy? Should I just lean into it and enjoy the foggy coziness? Overall, I'm more of an outdoors person, but could become a café person.

Thank you!

How to get partner involved

Hi there,
I have a surgery scheduled 5/28 and I am excited.

My big concern is with my long term partner, with whom I live. I wasn't small when I met him, but I've gained 80 pounds since we started dating 9 years ago. He like me seems to have a black hole for his stomach, but he isn't worried about the weight gain. Throughout the time we've been dating, I've really had to push hard to not eat junk food all the time. But he still brings a lot home. I also think that food is one of his acts of love.

He isn't really happy about the surgery, but is otherwise supportive. I've tried to talk about how our life will change in terms of going out to eat and what cooking around the house will look like, but he doesn't seem to want to talk about it.

I don't want to go through all of this just to gain the weight back because of a non-supportive environment.

Did anyone else have any concerns with their partner fully being on board? And if they're not, how to manage that?

TL;DR: partner and I both overeat. He isn't 100% on board with the surgery. How do I still maintain weight loss?
