Had Brandy Really “Fallen Off” by “Afrodisiac” (2004)?

Question is in the title, and I’m genuinely curious. I’m 28, so I wasn’t really tracking artist peaks/hype at 6 years old.
Also, while I consider my music taste very expansive and open to/able to enjoy most anything, I did have to listen to and seek out secular music on my own — my parents are very religious immigrants who didn’t really play much past Celine Dion, ABBA and some MJ lmao (so I have no childhood memories to pull on either).

However, my sister who is 12 years my senior and was much more lucid/aware of the music industry in 2003-2005, told me that by Afrodisiac, Brandy had “fallen off”. This was to my surprise, as I really enjoyed that album and absolutely love the title track.

Can anyone who was tapped in at that time speak to this/share what the landscape was around this time and whether my sister’s statement is accurate?

Joined the Integra fam (!) but at what cost 😂

This is much more the story of a crazy coincidence/miracle than me having anything bad to say about my new Integra — just expectation-setting before I share how my Civic got totaled within 48 hours of me driving off the Acura lot.

On 6/5, a scheduled test drive turned into a $30k OTD purchase of a 32k mile Majestic Black Pearl 2025 A-Spec Tech Integra w/ red guts. I had been pretty gung-ho on grabbing this car up, and I even posted in here about another Integra and got a ton of great advice from y’all on buying my first car (thanks again!).

On 6/7, I took one last drive in my Civic (still fully insured, registered etc. — the plan was to turn in my plates the very next day) to BK where I teach rollerskating classes. On my way home, a Model Y Tesla hit an Infiniti coupe and then rebounded into my Civic, driver’s side. The impact sent us both flying off the highway onto the shoulder, but the shoulder was full of ditches which ended up also ripping up the undercarriage of my Civic as I tried to get the car back under control.

Tesla driver’s insurance deemed the Civic totaled a couple days later, and he was ruled fully at fault for both the Infiniti and my car.

Although not the way I imagined saying goodbye to my Civic, this was kind of an insane stroke of luck. Only minor injuries, and I no longer have to worry about selling the Civic. Just happy to be safe and loving my new whip lol

Realistic Negotiations as a First-Time Acura Buyer

In the market for another car. This will be my first time car shopping completely on my own, where the car is 100% my choice & the note + insurance is under my name and my bill to foot. Tough time to be in the market, but I’m excited.

Hopefully Helpful Context:
- coming from a base 2018 Taffeta White Honda Civic, bought used in 2020, $18k sticker price
- I’m in New York
- I’m not a car enthusiast, but I do like cars and know my fair share. However, road noise, engine type, auto vs manual, etc etc are not deal makers nor breakers for me. When I set out for another car, my only requirements were sub-75k miles, remote start preferred, sunroof preferred, leather seats, solid acceleration & longevity 😂.
- during this search, I have looked at Lexus IS, Acura TLX and Mercedes CLA (250 to be exact)
- 800 credit score, going to sell my Honda (hoping for $5k - $10k), and open to putting $6k - $10k down. Would also consider buying any $20 - $25k car in cash.

I understand that 1. Acura wants to move some cars off the lots right now and 2. It’s an anniversary year for the Integra (right?). I’ve seen posts in this sub with people getting up to 10% off sticker price.

My question to y’all is:

How much do you think I could negotiate off of a car like the one pictured? Is $30k fair/realistic at all?
Is this a fair price/worth it with what you all know about Acura, Integra specifically?
