It's me Cassidy from Fallout 2, please tell me your credit card details.
Like, fallout fuking stinks, i hate it. Why Todd Howard still alive? We should kill him with our fallout bullets.
There are numerous examples of fan-created content becoming canon by mistake. A fan map featuring locations from the cancelled Fallout Van Buren made it into the show. Cassidy's talking head, which again, made it into the Fallout board game. So, the fan community is capable of influencing Fallout through the power of misinformation. What if we use this power intentionally? What if we make an entire fan game canon?
So here's my plan. We should canonize the Fallout 2 mod called Fallout Sonora. Why this mod and not, say, Fallout London? Because it's a global Russian mod that Bethesda people have no idea about, unlike the aforementioned Fallout London. Besides, they have absolutely no fuckin idea what happened in the older Fallout games, and Sonora perfectly replicates their style, so passing it off as an old, unpopular game in the series will be easier. We need to start slowly. They shouldn't understand everything too soon. First, we'll be adding bits of lore and history to the Fallout Wikipedia. Later, we should start creating lore Tik Toks and YouTube shorts, and then hour-long lore videos mixing in real canon information with Fallout Sonora content. At the same time, we shouldn't pretend to be, writing obscene things like "this contradicts this or that from Fallout Sonora." That could ruin everything. They must take the bait themselves and start using our information. After that, even if they realize what they've done... It will be too late...
Don't get me wrong, I like Black Mountain Radio as it is in the game, but if Tabitha hadn't staged a coup and Marcus had remained the radio host at the time of New Vegas, just imagine if the wise and charismatic Marcus had talked about his adventures with the Chosen One and Jacob, about the times he served in unity, his thoughts on factions, and about "guys, the master was actually right and he did nothing wrong". I think this radio station would have become the best in the series, hands down.
At Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, animatronics possessed by children's souls are killing people, and a maniac named William Afton works there. Hirose and Nakamura don't know the FNaF lore?
I recently read a Russian fanfic called "Жизнь Забей-Пита," or the English translation, "The Life of Easy Pete." The book obviously described Pete's life before the events of Fallout: New Vegas, including how he was the first to settle in Goodsprings, how he was drowning in senile depression, his drunken escapades, and then at the end of the book gave up on everything and became Easy. It was incredibly fascinating, and I became curious as to why there are no official Fallout books? I don't mean art-books or cookbooks, but novellas and short stories. There are tons of books about, say, Star Wars, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro 2033, and I don't even need to mention Warhammer. So why doesn't Bethesda hire writers, consult with them, and let them write stories set in the universe? The Fallout world is obviously too small for the games alone. Books could detail character backstories, the origins of cities and factions, stories from the pre-war world, and much more—Harold's journey across America, the birth of the Brotherhood of Steel, what happened to the Vault Dweller after being expelled from Vault 13 and left Arroyo. Fallout absolutely needs books.
Considering that the trailer for the new DLC directly mentions that the Doom Slayer's name is Flynn Taggart, it would be funny if the developers made the Doom novels canon
