I'm having a lot of trouble with a fade to black/fade from black transition that im doing.

Hi, im doing attempting to add a very gradual 10 sec long fade to black to my clip, and then a very gradual 10 sec fade from black to my clip transition using keyframes (starting at 0% ->100% opacity, and then vice versa). The issue I am having is that the fade to black is very gradual and is working as intended, however the fade from black happens super quick, despite it still being 10 seconds. Like, it goes from black to fully lit in ~2 seconds, despite there being a ~10 sec gap on the opacity keyframes. I cannot figure out cross disolve for the life of me and not sure if that is the better fade to black transition to use here. Does anyone an ideal workflow for this?

Can I PLEASE have a sanity check from someone that understand files storage better than I do regarding using the "consolidate library media" option?

This might be a bit difficult to explain, but im gonna try my best. When I initially started my project, I used the "leave files in place option" and pulled all my files from my dropbox that was synced to my laptop. One day, when attempting to back up my project, I initially moved the enire fcp bundle to dropbox (not copied), and then panicked and moved it back. I got some error message and ignored it and the next time I opened fcp, my entire project was fried. Even when opening the backups that fcp does automatically wouldnt work. Thankfully, dropbox stored a "deleted" version of the fcp bundle and I was able to restore that first on dropbox, and then back to my computer. Honestly I dont even know wtf fcp/I really did, BUT I got my project back (clips + edits), praise god hallelujah.

Fast forward to today, I am extremely paranoid that I can somehow goof again and lose my project. To combat this, I planned use the "consolidate library media" option so that all my files AND edits would be in one place. That way, I can back up that single FCP bundle to wherever (I have another hardrive, ssd, and dropbox) and have access to everything (again, files and edits). So I go to click "consolidate library media" and it says that my library media is already consolidated??? Except I never did this. I checked all of the storage settings within the project and it looks like they confirm that the media IS actually being stored in the library (see screenshots).

So I suppose this is good news to me, because its what I wanted, but I just have no idea how it could be possible because I know I had initially selected the "leave files in place" option + I never did anything myself for the media to be saved to my library. Is it possible that when working out of the backup fcp from dropbox, something weird happened to where all media got stored in the library?

So, I guess my overall question to you all is based on the screenshots, is my media actually being stored in my library/if I back up my fcp bundle it will have my edits and media, right?

Also worth noting, the media folder containing all my clips is about 139 GB, so it makes sense for my project to show its 140GB in the FCP "Library Properties" screenshot.

New to video editing and I am sooo paranoid of losing my project to some freak accident and not having it properly backed up, so I would like to confirm with you all that my back up strategy is ok.

I currently have all of my video files backed up to an ssd AND dropbox, and am working with the files directly out of my dropbox (have the app downloaded, and have all files synced to my computer, am using the "leave files in place" option). However, I recently read that that wasnt the best idea since dropbox live syncs. I would much rather transfer all of my dropbox files into my fcp library, that way I can back up that one fcp library to an ssd and have access to BOTH my project edits AND footage. This is possible using the consolidate library media option correct? Is there any danger of me doing this in any way?

If using air pods max 2 to listen, will sound quality be better through steaming apps directly from apple tv vs without?

just got a pair from the sale, used them to watch house of dragons last night and it was amazing. am now wondering if i would get an even better experience if i watched from apple tv as opposed to just the regular app from my tv.

edit: to clarify i mean the apple tv device, not the apple tv app.

I have a noob question: Why is there a play button icon next to my clip name, despite it not being used in my timeline? Usually, I only see the play button icon after a clip is dragged into my timeline, but now I see it regardless if the clip is being used or not.

Every clip, 100+ has this play button icon despite not being in my timeline. For more context, I am working out of a backup. Ever since then every clip has had the play button logo. It was helpful when it wasn't there because I know what clip I have and haven't used. I guess its not the biggest deal but i want to make sure this cant screw me later.

How exactly did this creator add big name songs to his travel vlog without it getting taken down?

I came across this guy's channel and he looks to regularly use big name songs in his vlogs. i've always thought it was a big no no to add any type of llicensed music or you risk getting your video taken down. How exactly is he pulling this off? Like what specifically is his process for adding in these songs and editing to them?

Also, what is the risk of this? Can your video get taken down or will you just lose the chance of earning money on it? any insight is helpful, thanks!

Incase anyone is curious, the video im referencing is: Solo in Vietnam - An Adventure to Feel Alive
