Alright..so acc. to me, love maybe is a all so powerful force which governs the universe, like it is not affected by time, distance or dimensions..
Okay..here me out, we as humans are mere 3 dimensional species.. although we think ourselves to be so much more...but there is so much we could never discover or know about, simply because we are incapable of knowing somethings..
Like how we can only see a small spectrum of visible light...making almost entire universe blank to us..we are incapable of seeing or hearing things over a certain range..

How dark matter and energy exists but we can never see it and neither any of the machines we had created and yet for this universe to hold up and be what it is today...dark matter's existence is mandatory..and that's all we know about it..
So maybe love is also a force like that..which affects us, controls us and yet we can't see it, can't control it or change it..
Love, and I mean actual love..I think it a force which is not even a bit affected by distance or time..be it the love of a mother to her child..it is timeless and goes across oceans without being affected..or love between friends or lovers...
And the most important..the love between one and the Universe itself...the purest form..

I believe love is a one way thing..always, because if I love someone truly then I won't be needing them to love me back in order to validate the feelings..
It is unconditional and if it conditional then that's not love..
You know in Hindu mythology there is one couple which in my eyes represents the love in the purest form..
Although when love comes in mind and one knows a bit about hinduism..the only couple which comes is Radha Krishna..
But for me..it is Shiv and Shakti!

Giving you the context of it...Shiv and Shakti aka Parvati and Hindu gods and their love life was a bit tragic..due to some reasons..they were bound to always get separated whenever they meet and fall in love..
So..Shiv waited for 108 lives for Parvati.. everytime they both used to meet and fall in love and then death or something else took away her life and then she born again and again each time remembering nothing from her past life..not even her lover..

And Shiv had waited for all those 108 lives of her..seeing her each time being oblivious to his identity...each time going through her deaths..the pain, patience..
He used to wear a garland of skulls while being submerged in his meditation..
And you know that garland had 108 skulls.. who's you may ask...of his beloved!
That then and there is the purest example of love..his wait, pain.. patience and her.. determination of always ending up finding him in each life she was born into, the fight for their love..

So love is a force which governs us..and then you may ask, then how can we choose people we wanna love or maybe that love is just a combination of bunch of chemical release in our brain??
Well I think.. that's not love, it is attraction which our brain does responding to biology...
Love is something which happens between Souls..and seeing a soul is not easy, right!
That's why..when we get to know a person completely..inside out..from their dark sides..to their warm, weird or even creepy ones..
Then when we see the soul of the person..not their body or mind or even heart..
That's when one soul choose another one..and falls in love.. completely and utterly!
So technically it is our choice only..but practically it is not at the same time.. because our mind and heart is not involved...yet it is obliged to follow it..

As I said we can't see it.. control it or change it..we can just feel it..
Like how time is..we can't see or control it and yet it affects us nonetheless...

And when we love someone or something..we love them regardless of them loving us back or not.. unconditionally...

So..love for me is devotion!!!
