Anyone with super dehydrated/oily+sensitive skin actually prefer hydrogel masks over regular sheet masks?

Anyone with super dehydrated/oily+sensitive skin actually prefer hydrogel masks over regular sheet masks?

My skin is super dehydrated/oily and ridiculously sensitive

I’m constantly dealing with redness, random flaky patches, and my face gets weirdly hot all the time. It’s honestly exhausting.

I’ve mostly only used regular sheet masks, but I randomly tried a hydrogel mask recently because I got one as a sample when buying skincare (K-beauty brand, figured why not)

And idk if I’m imagining things but it felt really different??

Like it stayed on way better than normal sheet masks and felt cooler for longer too. My skin has been extra sensitive/red lately and after using it, my face actually felt calmer. Like... less angry lol

But I’ve literally only used it once so now I can’t tell if this was just placebo, a lucky skin day, or if hydrogel masks are actually better for people with skin like mine.

Anyone here with chronic dehydration, redness, or super reactive skin end up liking hydrogel masks more long term? Or was it basically the same as regular sheet masks for you?

Curious if anyone’s had a similar experience because my skin has been struggling lately

My skin looks completely different in candid photos compared to my bathroom mirror. What actually fixes dull lifeless skin?

My friend tagged me in a photo from this weekend and i am literally shook. I thought i looked fine when i left the house but in this photo my skin looks so dull and lifeless compared to everyone else like everyone around me had this natural glow and I just looked flat and washed out. Im 42 and I take care of my skin but clearly something is missing because what im doing isnt translating to real life results.

Has anyone had a wake up call moment like this and found something that fixed it maybe? I need my skin to look good outside of my dimly lit bathroom because apparently thats been lying to me.

Best ways to get rid of oily skin?

My skin is extremely oily, like to the point within 6 hours of wearing makeup it all seems to have come off.
All of my products are water based, i use products from the ordinary as i feel like no other brand helps the same, but if you have oily skin and have found a brand that works well, please let me know!!

or even just any hacks, makeup brands, specific creams etc. I’m desperate!!

Round face (puffy and fat)

Im a naturally slim girl (25F) but ive always had a round face, it looks super puffy and bloated on pictures.
I dont eat sugar, salt or processed food and tried cardio few times but see no improvement.

I dont think im a good candidate for masseter botox too because research i did said theres a possibility it could get worse.

Anyone successfully changed their face shape drastically and finally have better face shape?

Mine right now looks like theres a lot of cheek area and makes my face look rounder.
And when i take pictures, i have another layer of underchin which is weird because i normally look good in the mirror and im also a thin girl

How to achieve radiant and glowy skin?

I've started noticing how polished a lot of people look. Their skin looks bright and healthy, they seem in shape, dress well, and overall look refreshed all the time. Then I look at myself and feel dull in comparison, always in simple clothes and somehow looking both skinny and out of shape at the same time.

I'm trying to improve my overall appearance a bit, and honestly, I'm wondering what makes the biggest difference. Is it mostly skincare, eating better, working out, better grooming, expensive treatments, or just having more money and time?

Be honest. How much money have you wasted on skincare that did absolutely nothing?

34F here and i did the math last week and I genuinely wish I hadn't like between serums, moisturizers, toners, essences, masks, tools and lierally whatever else tiktok convinced me I needed, I've easily spent over $5,000 in the last 4 years. Probably more actually and for what? My skin looked the same.

I fell into the trap of thinking every new product was going to be "the one" like the $65 serum that would finally fix my texture, the $40 moisturizer that would give me the glow, the $25 exfoliant that would smooth everything out. I'd use something for 2 weeks, see no miracle results and move on to the next thing like rinse and repeat for years and the worst part is that I thought I was being smart about it. I was reading ingredients, watching reviews, comparing products but I was still just throwing money at the problem without ever addressing what was actually going on with my skin.

I finally broke the cycle a few months ago when I simplified everything and actually committed to a basic routine with one or two things that work on a deeper level and my skin has never looked better and my routine costs a fraction of what I was spending before.

My holy grail moisturizer got discontinued and I'm not okay?

I spent years finding a moisturizer that worked perfectly for my sensitive skin. Didn't break me out, didn't irritate my rosacea, felt amazing, absorbed perfectly. Finally found "the one" after wasting hundreds on products that didn't work. And they discontinued it. No warning. Just gone from the shelves and the website. I have one bottle of Avene Tolerance extreme cream left and I'm rationing it like it's the apocalypse. I've been trying to find a replacement but everything I try either breaks me out or irritates my skin. I'm right back to square one after years of searching.
How do you find a replacement when you don't even fully know why the original worked so well? I just know it DID.

Hyperpigmentation

Any advice on how to control hyperpigmentation? I have sun damage and acne scarring. The color on my face is uneven, red/pink and splotchy. Any advice?

Products or tools your dermatologist recommended that worked?

I feel like most of my skincare knowledge comes from reddit and youtube but I recently started actually listening to my derm and it's been a different experience. Some of the things she recommended I never would have tried on my own but they've made a real difference. What's something your dermatologist told you to use or do that delivered? whether it's a product, an ingredient, a treatment, a device whatever. I trust derm recommended stuff way more than influencer picks at this point?

Anyone else use skincare as a coping mechanism?

Bad day at work? New serum. Fight with my partner? Sheet mask. Existential dread? Full routine with all the extra steps. I just realized I've spent almost $300 on skincare this month and it's because I've had a terrible month emotionally. I'm not buying because my skin needs it. I'm buying because the act of buying and trying new products makes me feel like I have control over something.

My shelf is overflowing. Half of it is opened but barely used. I have 4 different vitamin C serums because each one was purchased during a different emotional crisis. Anyone else struggle with this? How do you separate actual skincare needs from emotional spending?

Hello everyone, I'm looking for some retinol products. I'll be turning 27 soon and I think it's time to start using retinol now. My skin is combination oily and a bit acne prone. Are there any beginner friendly serums/creams you can recommend or should I start with topical OTC products? Please let me know, thank you!!

glow up tips?

to myself, I’ve always thought I was pretty. Yes I have those days where I feel hideous but I am pretty content on how I look however I have been looking back on photos from the summer, September October, November and realize that I am not as pretty as I was back then. I’m not sure what happened and I don’t really want to share photos for privacy and safety, but I feel like my face got fatter (i didn’t even gain weight), I lost a lot of eyelashes and my eyes have kind of changed shape, and I’m developing wrinkles around my eyes… and I am way too young to be getting wrinkles, so I’m not sure what it is. I am also getting really bad baby hairs that look like bangs and I have to try and put them to the side and I am waiting for my hair appointment to get my roots re done. Does anyone have any tips because I feel so ugly

Red light therapy face mask - which one and why?

I’m 36 and naturally interested in all things anti-ageing at this stage.

I take good care of my skin but I hear red light therapy is the way to go. I’m starting to get fine lines / eye bags and would like a red light therapy mask.

I hear Solawave Wrinkle Retreat Pro is the way to go. Any recommendations / reviews / thoughts? Thanks.

UK skin care recommendations for rosacea?

Recently moved from the US to the UK and while I’ve been stockpiling some products that I can get in the US (either can’t get them here or they’re way more expensive) it’s time I’ve moved over to a better routine with things I can easily get here!

(Almost)40yr female. I have lightly dry skin, not dry cracked or peeling, just dry to normal. I have rosacea which is only going to get worse here 🤦🏼‍♀️, I don’t struggle with breakouts unless I’m highly stressed and then it’s by the temples. I have fine lines which I like to attribute to smiling and my two toddlers. I wear CeraVe moisturizer sunscreen daily since I’m fair skinned. I spent a lot of time in the sun through my early 30s (surfing, soccer) so definitely have sun damage.

Biggest concerns: aging, rosacea and then dry skin.

Best products? Routines? Advice?!
